Totally random story, but the title creeped me out for a completely different story I had almost forgotten. 6 years ago (when we were all in high school) a group of friends and I went camping. It started to rain while we were playing a card game so we all jumped into one tent to continue the game and wait out the storm. We were having so much fun we didnt realize the rain had started to let up. Mid-conversation, laughing like idiots over wherever dumb joke was said we hear "I love the sound of children's laugher" come from the outside of the tent. We freeze and I swear we could hear each other's hearts pounding. The voice from outside says, "come out, let me get a look at you." The biggest of the group (6'2" 200lb jock type) comes running out of the tent assuming he has to go head to head with some creep of the wilderness. When he opens the tent we find a shirtless, potbellied, daisy duke jean shorts wearing old guy. He had gold chains on his neck, three of which ended in gem crested crosses, and tattoos all over his chest and arms so faded I couldn't make out what they used to be. In one hand he held a yellow umbrella and the other a chain connected to the mostly overweight bull dog I have ever seen. My friend stopped his charge and ask who this stranger was. The man went on to explain he was "King Richard" but his wife and children just call him "King" so we should too. He said "I enjoy the sound of children's laughter, and wanted to thank you." He stood in the middle of our campsite talking for what felt like a hour, never once getting less creepy. He spoke of the bible, innocent of children, and how beautiful we were. Eventually he left and said "I'll be listening for you" with a wink. I didn't sleep too good that night.

FYI for Ken and Dane; the “hat” on the top of a rooster or chickens head is called a comb.

And this one has had its comb removed, in hot places like the Philippines, combs help cool the animal off and are full of blood.. and very easy to damage, cock fighting is a main past time there so if they remove them, less blood, and the blood will make the Rooster blind and could make it lose a fight. In the USA, this breed is used for show, as they are very pretty, and it's removed for looks .. like cropping a dogs ears or tail..
