Hi diabetic here, We do need sweets. Sometimes we have lows, and that can kill you... there are, however, cheaper options than cookies. We don't sweets if it's high, or over 150... depending on the person... we need sugar if it's low under 80... depending on the person. We also eat with taking insulin

They would give us oranges when i used to run marathons sometimes they would have a few stops along the way to grab an orange or a bit of orange juice so your bloodsugar wouldnt tank out with all the exertion and adrenaline. Oranges work really well and are at least healthy. Saying you "need" cookies is kinda like...uhhhhh... especially when cookies /sweets are how a lot of diabetics (type 2 at least) BECAME diabetic to begin with. makes it like an excuse to continue feeding an addiction to sweets.

That is how Walmart’s Loss Prevention works. If I remember (it’s been awhile) they can’t grab you and wrestle you into the LP office but most people don’t know that and will just walk in. Most of the time they have the cops already there or on the way.

Yeah I used to work Loss prevention and getting the cops to just be there as they go out the door is the easiest way. 95% of the time the people who know what they're doing will just leave the stuff and walk away then there's not much you can do unless you get the car's plates. (which they usually swap for fake ones or just take their plates off for the few minutes they're parked.

Possibly helpful context…. Pullman is a small university town in eastern wa. I went to college there at WSU it’s a massive school but the only reason you move to Pullman really is for the university. But it’s a super small police station and so if something happens involving the cops they all basically know about it. So I’m not surprised with it bring a small town that they already know so much about her.

Some people are just shaped like that, but a bigger issue in the US is that a lot of our food is filled with junk that makes you fat. Those calories aren't good for you, and your body can be starved for nutrients while still having the calories to keep you alive. I'm anemic. It doesn't matter how much I eat. If it doesn't have iron in it, I'm going to start passing out and throwing up. Your body needs that stuff. And I'm not wasting my time to analyze if a person weights enough to morally steal from a billion dollar corporation. That just doesn't feel like an effective use of anyone's time.

I work at Walmart, the people who report shoplifting are called Asset Protection. Their job is basically to watch theft, but not do anything about it really. They’re basically a deterrent, but if the thief got away, AP gets fired. It’s so Bass Ackwards. 🙄

They won't get fired if the thief gets away i worked there for 5 years and a lot of them got away and no one got fired. As long as you are catching thieves pretty regularly you are fine. It's literally not possible to stop all of them.

@ In my store, a lot of our AP have been fired for barely anything at all. I’ve been there for 12 years. It wasn’t until the policy for AP workers changed, that made the company ease back off of them. Which took place in 2018 roughly. Not to mention the store managers who rotated every couple of years had their fun firing AP workers for no reason as well. The way AP workers are supposed to “deter” thieves are a joke. It’s even worse when they place workers who have mental problems or are too old to do anything about thieves that also compromised their stock.
