Would you consider this in 2024 or are there some more modern products coming out soon? Thanks in advance

I'd still consider this a viable option as these are more budget friendly. Wacom is making some excellent new products that are competing with the tablet market, which is fantastic, but their premium products are still hugely expensive for most. If your budget can stretch, then buy a flagship. If not, this is still very good.

Hey. Thanks for the video and your little review of the Cintiq 22. I've been looking at getting one as a newbie to digital art and this has helped.

I’m used to drawing on my iPad pro 12.9” but I’m seriously considering something bigger. Thank you for this review!

Thanks for your comment I'm glad my review has potentially helped you decide on what to go for next, the iPad is also fantastic but art is just easier with more space.

I can't afford a Cintiq 22. I'd love the new 19 4k but my wife would skin me. The 16" doesn't have a vesa attachment plate for a swiveling scissor arm. The 13" is just to small for what I've been using, the POS Yiynova 19U. I was going to pull the purchase trigger on a Kamvas 22 Plus today but found complaints about the pen driver going out. Much like what the Yiynova has which is now defunct/bought out. RIP.

what is that thing that is like a glove you wear on your hand? where can i get one of those
@brucemjson
@brucemjson 5 ай бұрын
It's a digital artist glove, which is really useful to stop natural occuring skin oils from getting on the screen. It's also really helpful when moving your hand on the screen. You can pick them up fairly cheaply on amazon. Hope this helps 😀

Hi, Actually the model you are reviewing here is the Cintiq 22 including the Pro Pen 2 with 8192 pressure levels (released in 2019 I think) and not the "Cintiq 22 HD" which was an older model (it has buttons on the displays and has 2048 pressure levels and came with a Grip Pen KP501). I have the Cintiq 22 DTK2260 (shown in this video) and it is lovely.

Hey, thanks for pointing that out. I should have known as I also used to have the HD model, probably why I called it that as I was used to it 🤣 Do you use this version currently? I've now moved to Samsung tab for more on the move creations. I will one day upgrade to the wacom Pro line, but right now, the price bracket is way too much 😞

@@brucemjson yes, I use this model everyday (for 225 days to be precise). I bought it just over 7 months ago at a post-xmas sale, and it's a lovely monitor as well as a pen display (I also have the Wacom ExpressKey Remote). I recently bought an inexpensive Chromebook Spin 311 with a wacom pen (again on a sale) when I am on the move, like drawing/sketching in the art galleries/museum and cafes. It's not as expensive as the ipad or Samsung tabs. I love my Cintiq 22, and I am very happy with it. Sure the pro-models are very nice, but Cintiq 22 is a decent pen display considering its price. Hope you will find a device(s) that suit you perfectly too!!

What's that shortcut wheel type thing at 5:53 ? How is that bought up in Photoshop?
@brucemjson
@brucemjson 8 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for your question. The wheel is built into the wacom driver software. You can enable the option within the pen tab section on the driver application. Just open wacoms driver, and you have a few choices for the two buttons the pen has. It's very handy 👌

@@brucemjson Thanks for this. I'm eagerly awaiting the delivery of these today and pretty excited to start using a bigger canvas. Stepping up from using my ipad and/or a very small xp pen pro 12.

i've enjoyed my 16" HD so far. i'd like something bigger now but the pro lines are just ridiculously expensive. everyone says the 22" is entry level for artists who want to work on display tablets. what do you think, can one also produce high quality professional art with this display?
@brucemjson
@brucemjson Жыл бұрын
Trouble with Wacom is they've always been king so have been able to charge extortionate prices but they do have competition now by other brands who are catching up. I'm sure you can create high quality art with this especially coming from their 13" only thing to be mindful of is colour accuracy, I've spent loads of hours on this tablet without issues. Just make sure after each project you have a more colour accurate display to rate your work with. It all comes down to budget and who knows, when your art is paying for the next model up you'll be winning.

@@brucemjson hey thanks, it's much appreciated coming from you. i see many people complaining about resolution of the 22", but some videos i've seen on the cintiq 22 i see very impressive high end art, and these artists only bought this model as their main workhorse. do you think insistence on 4k is just a kind of snobbery, or is the 1080K really so bad when you zoom in?
@brucemjson
@brucemjson Жыл бұрын
@@yoservs Personally 4k would be better for screens bigger then 20" however I'm doing just fine with 1080p I think you get used to it. The eyes just forget to notice those details and focus on the artwork. It'll come down to preference and personal taste.
@yoservs
@yoservs Жыл бұрын
@@brucemjson agreed. HD is high definition, after all. your tools don't make you a good or bad artist, i guess. your skill will determine the the quality of your artwork. thanks again, you got me decided that my next pen display will be the 22". the 4k res cintiqs are definitely not worth the price jump.

@@brucemjson this is one of the big reason why I'm holding back getting this one now.. I noticed the colour calibration is not accurate and somewhat of a lower picture quality. I'm waiting for Wacom to release a newer 22" model that are up to level with other newer cintiqs out in the market. Because, I cannot get anything larger than 22" since it exceed my sweet spot on a drawing tablet.

@brucemjson

It's a drawing glove that prevents sweat and general grease from getting in the way of the creative process. It also helps your hand glide, which feels quite natural. You can pick them up online for relatively little money. Hope this helps 🙏
