If you're able to, and you really want it, I think you should get one to try it out. If you don't like it, I'm sure you can return it, or sell it again as a barely used item. I've always wanted one too, but I've just got my first tablet not too long ago (no screen on it, and was pretty cheap, but still really good). What I would do is ask for it as a gift for Christmas or on my birthday, so I wouldn't lose money. This is just a suggestion, so you don't have to listen to me if you don't want to. :)
@rlddles4u4 жыл бұрын
I felt the same way, but I actually got used to it very quickly. I’ve actually improved on my art because of the tablet. I recommend you try it out, and if you don’t like it, you can probably return it. I recommend getting a Huion Kamvas Pro 13 from Amazon. It’s lightweight, cheap, a good size, great quality, and it’s easy to draw on. Though it has many wires and has to be plugged into a wall, so it’s not portable, you also probably need a desk for it, but you could manage drawing on your bed.
@cloakswoosh5104 жыл бұрын
I’m not gonna lie, it took me a few months to get used to my tablet. Like, six. It really depends on the person though, and if you use your tablet more it’s probably going to go a lot faster. 4:52 Actually, the opposite is true for me. I'm more stressed out when drawing in digital because I'm such a perfectionist, so I spend a lot of time correcting my art instead of practicing. I like drawing traditionally better, especially with pen because I know I'll mess up, and that's ok. I'm not perfect. Also I built up confidence to draw with pen by participating in Inktober. I highly recommend that challenge to any artist.
@bluewolf71114 жыл бұрын
I mean, with traditional there is the eraser, wich builds a false sense of being able to fix mistakes.. with the catch that erasing too much makes for a messy drawing. I still prefer digital in wich you can fix it all. If i just wanna practice I just dont get too picky about the little mistakes, thats more about self control than anything.
@alianar.d.87244 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem. When it comes to letting loose and simply drawing without having any stress, traditional is the way for me. But I like to scan it since I prefer digital painting than actual painting.

You are like me. I only use my cintiq for finished renderings. Otherwise if I sketched and inked on it I would be zooming in on it and zooming out all day trying to get the line perfectly straight to then with I drew it with fountain pen because I prefer the rugged look and aesthetic over the perfect pixel digital look. I just like digital when doing sketches that can be printed Off later to be inked over for my comics. Some people call it more work but when you directly draw on paper you draw the line and it’s finished and you are more in contact with your drawing and not having a screen breaking that contact between artist and art.

Gonna say, the point about paper is so true.... Not only that, but when drawing on paper its permanent and you leave behind evidence of your failings/progress. When learning it can sometimes be really difficult, especially if you have issues you're working through, the last thing you want is someone having a laugh when they see your failed attempts :P, digital is very freeing in that regard!

Same here. I bought a huion 16 kamvas pro a few months ago and I'm loving it, It's slim, well built, and the best part is that where I live it costed half the price of a wacom one. It's an incredible tablet for about the same price I bought my old intuos pro (another amazing gadget btw, but I wanted to try something with a screen). If you compare the price range, huion is much better for new artists than wacom.

@@pandacapuccino yeah! I mean, Xpen and Huion have great quality devices which cost half of a Wacom one (and sometimes come with free stand/gloves/special cables/art software) This is something like Apple vs Samsung and Huawei, and focusing just in Wacom seems like it's a 20min ad... Beyond that, tell me in this time how did you feel the color accuracy? Is that "antiglare" technology real?
@pandacapuccino4 жыл бұрын
diego g. It felt exactly like that! About the huion, the pen is great, the anti glare is really good (the screen is matte and has a paper-like texture, feels a lot similar to drawing in an intuos), and the paralaxe is minimal. The color calibration was a bit too saturated for my taste, made the pieces look a bit washed out in my phone, but I calibratated it comparing it to my notebook and now it's perfect :) mine came with a glove, but not with a stand (there are some bundles with the stand though), so I ordered a stand from another company. Hi guys, just a few important details that are missed here. If you are professional don't make compromises with equipment, especially not with color reproduction... For example: - Cintiq 27QHD: Color Gamut 97% Adobe RGB. Displayable colors (maximum) 1.07 billion (Requires video card supporting 10-bit color) - Cintiq 22 HD: Color Gamut 72% Adobe RGB. Displayable colors (maximum) 16.7 million I work with 27" for years and it is much different than 22HD. Besides colors, 22HD (1920x1080px) makes pixels very noticeable which is not the case with 27" and QHD resolution (2560x1440px). There is a reason why it cost much and it is worth every penny. I can fully agree that 32" is too big for moving it around, for example, 27" is big but it is a good compromise, it offers comfort while painting with the 60cm diagonal (like average painting canvas) and there is enough space for sidebars and tools, but 32... That is probably too much. In the end, everybody should choose depending on their requirement, but for beginners, I would recommend Cintiq 16 HD, which costs around $500, it has fairly correct colors, and pixels are not noticeable with 1080p on 15.6" screen.

I can tell you're having fun, so I ain't at all slamming you or this video or the effort put into this video. Though I admit, I went into this video expecting it to be informative to help make a purchase decision, and I think this video is more tailored to be entertainment. Which there's nothing wrong with, it's just not what I was expecting and not informative, which may not be what the goal was anyway. The criteria for every tablet was 1) How many cables? 2) Portable? 3) Did I like drawing it? There was virtually zero elaboration on any opinions given, cost vs value discussion for each tablet individually or relative to the other tablets, discussion about the differences in styluses, etc. Giving negative marks to the bigger tablets for not being portable feels silly because they're not really meant to be portable on-the-go tablets, which contributes to the overall feeling that this video wasn't really designed to be an in-depth informative video, and just meant to be entertainment. But it's super possible that's how it's suppose to be and I came here with improper expectations (I also thought this was going to compare different brands since the title just says "top drawing tablets", while all the tablets in this video are wacom). I just came across here from my youtube homepage, and happen to be looking for opinions on alternatives to my current tablet (Wacom Mobile Studio Pro 2). As an aside, like many others, I started out with traditional art before digital, and I'll almost always recommend to anybody who wants to learn, to start traditional, but you made a fair argument for starting digital too. Anyways, I still recognize the effort put into this video, so keep doing what ya do, I think the title made me think it was going to be something else.

I mean they are all Wacom and use pretty much the exact same pen tech with some small changes here and there that don't make much of a difference. Megan Crouch I think a lot of the complaints with huion when people say it’s broken don’t realize that it’s not the tablet, it’s the driver. The driver is a bit finicky sometimes and every few months (depending on the computer) my laptop has to have the driver reinstalled every few months but I’ve never had to reinstall the driver on my desktop. And if you don’t reinstall the driver manually from the website, it really can seem like the tablet is broken, pen pressure won’t work, the tablet will take a bit to recognize the pen and there will be delay, etc. After figuring this out I have had my huion for about 5 years yet with no issues. I love my huion.

@drunkenmuse4 жыл бұрын
100% agree, I've been working professionally for 18 years and I would choose an intuos over a cintiq any day. But it's worth noting that even though the bamboo is a very legit tablet, the intuos/pro line is a significant step up in build quality later on; both the pen itself and pressure sensitivity control. So it does make a difference in speed/output once you reach a certain skill level (just like quality of tools in any other medium) and is a worth investment if it can be afforded. A lot of people also draw on Small models when they really should be trying out Medium - while it can be a very understandable cost issue for many, drawing on a smaller size tablet can be really hard (and straining) compared to a slightly larger one. Another instance where tools can hold the artist back to a degree. (Disregarding that people can make great art with just a mouse, albeit very slowly and frustratingly)
