Did Cipriano ever visited Eusebio Martinez, the Postmaster for Medanales Post Office? Don Eusebio was a good musician. People would invite him to go to weddings to do the entriaga de los novios. In the summer time we used to enjoy his music when he would play and sing. All the neighbor's would enjoy listening. He played guitar, violin, banjo, and different instruments coming from Chimayo, New Mexico he perhaps still has relatives who still play. He died many years ago, May he rest in peace, but I guess he never left recordings. I often search for his music but have never found any. We miss those days. That was the best music in those days that everyone loved. I still love that kind of music being 81 years old, but my kids don't like the music I grew up listening to. I love listening to polkas, chotis, redovas, cunas, and valses.

I love the elder A northern New Mexicans. Very special people. I’m from Truchas NM near Chamisal where vigil grew up. I love to see people take interest in our beautiful culture and I love to see how others worked to help preserve it. It really touches my heart.

No ay como la musica de Nuevo Mexico. Aqui hasta Tonia Apodaca toca con Cipriano Vigil tan hermosa musica que la jente siempre les gustaba los bailes que teniamos aqui en Nuevo Mexico. Those were the days of clean honest fun. If we only had that nowadays there wouldnt be so much crime and lives lost. Dances were all over during my younger days and we had so much fun going to dances, but not now those that came from other countries came to ruin the people here with their drugs all for the love of money and are condeming themselves before God by ruining lives all over. They must not think there is a God that will judge them someday.

I'm watching this video today because today I gave away my son's cigar box guitar, that he made under the mentorship of Señor Vigil. The guitar has been handed down to a 16 year old boy who lost his belongings in a fire. ¡Que viva Señor Vigil! ¡Que viva la música de Nuevo México!

Cipriano Vigil is amazing such a good story teller, he is reliving his memories right in front of you and taking you with him. I am originally from Llano San Juan and growing up I saw some weird supernatural stuff around my house and the mountain areas there. Chamisal, Penasco, Rodarte, Lllano San Juan and all those areas are really haunted places. I never witness malicious things but plenty of strange lights and floating mists. I miss my old house and now as an old man I want to go back, maybe one day. If you grew up around here or your family is from here honor their heritage and yours.

The former magistrate judge his name was Cipriano Vigil too but I don't know if this two are related they were both from El Rito, NM. To some it might sound like Mexican Music but there is a lot difference in the Spanish Music we have in New Mexico. They use to play valses, chotis, redovas, polkas in the dances we had here, but gone are those days. I wish we still had dances here too maybe the younger generation would have more fun there then to be out doing those damn drugs. It was so beautiful and fun going to dances.
@randygonzalez1375 Жыл бұрын
@@APACHE284they do covers of Mexican songs because a lot of them are influences. But our music is unique and started out as Spanish folk music. It's similar to some Mexican music because the Spaniards who went to northern Mexico also came to nm and brought their culture
