I come from Builsa District, Upper East Region of Ghana. Growing up we were thought both in school and by oral tradition from elders that, not only the white man enslaved people from the North, but also Marauding Arab Slave Traders, like Babatu, an Arab, and his band of slave traders. The citizens of the district became fed up. So the last time Babatu and his band came along to carry out their raids, all the Builsa chiefs and their warriors gathered and fought and defeated him. He fled to the Northern Region of Ghana where it is said he died. According to the narrative, he would always start his raids from Upper Volta, now known as Burkina Faso, north of the then Gold Coast (Ghana).

Lincoln's imperative---indeed his grand vision---was to implement Alexander Hamilton's and Henry Clay's British-style, mercantilist, state-aggrandizing, business and political elite-enriching, economic vision (aka: the American System), whose implementation was fatally threatened by southern secession. In fact, Lincoln had no legal right to aggress against the southern states---the federal government being merely their agent. Emancipation of the slaves was merely a strategic expedient decided upon by Lincoln late in the war. Ottoman Empire was the first abonded slavery in Europa. Even before that, that was different than westerns. Becuause, İslam says so. Islam tried to abonded slavery but, world was not ready. Always they were suppose to set free a slave for good deeds and for sins. The slaves must wear what the owner wear and eat what they eat...

Sweatshop workers as _slaves._ (06:05) To be clear, slavery is _forced_ labor ... aka: labor due to _physical coercion._ So called _sweatshop_ workers are _NOT_ slave laborers as long as those workers are there voluntarily. Think about it ... a person who chooses to get a job in a sweatshop is choosing this not because working there is so swell, but because he/she views this job as _the best available option_ at the time of the decision. No, this is not a great option. But such is the fact of life in a developing economy---until capital is saved and invested, high tech machines and equipment are scarce, thus productivity is lower than with these things. Wages are low compared to workers who have use of advanced technology. What is needed to increase wages are (a) foreign savings and investment and (b) domestic savings and investment. As the economy develops, wages will rise. Everywhere and always, the fount of economic growth and development is (a) higher productivity and (b) new branches of goods/services ... all made possible via savings and investment.
