Circassian Music of the Caucasus

Circassian music is music of the Circassians (Adyghes, Cherkess, and Kabardays), people from Northern Caucasus, Russia. Their music demonstrates their traditions and habits. Genetically, the Adyghe have shared ancestry partially with neighboring peoples of the Caucasus, with some influence from the other regions. The Circassian language, also known as Cherkess, is a member of the ancient Northwest Caucasian language family.

@@alfazedz1791 it was Russian conquest of northern caucasus. Georgians became Russian’s vassal in 18th century, Russo-Caucasian war took place mostly in 19th century. Russians banished muslim caucasians and they fled to the Ottoman Empire

There is no doubt that the central Asian nomads and after Otomans put deeper footprint on northern caucasus. Religion, cultural attributes, firstnames and lastnames are heavily influenced in this context.

soup God The circassian language is’nt an iranian language and less an indo european language (even if the language have some links) but it’s an Caucasic language like Georgian or Chechen for example. You can say that the Ossetian language is an eastern Iranian language with Pashto language, Ossetians are descendants of Alans and Sarmatians.
