this was '83...maybe '84. chuck was long gone from the jerks in '85. i saw this when it aired. this was NOT the German show. i think they may have filmed this at perkins palace. there was no way network tv was ready for this back then.

I don't think this was from 1985. More like 1983 because they were playing songs from Golden Shower Of Hits and Wild In The Streets. If 1985, they would have been playing songs from Wonderful.

Chuck was always great and I watched him many times playing with DOA. However, I prefer Lucky's drumming for the CJs, as he was much more precise and the stops and starts in the songs were more delineated. This is a bit more like a wall-of-sound and it does detract from the dynamics just a bit. IMHO. Still great though - hahaha!

This is from the first time they aired this. The next time they aired it Peter Ackroyd didn't interrupt the set. I think it was early 84 too. This wan't the line up that played The Rock Hotel in NYC on New Years eve 84.
