Needed to prep for a D&D group I run for a local youth autism program so I thought I would try out this method. I had some ideas of what would be going on in the game world but by using the circle method it really brought cohesion and logic to all these different ideas and inspired a couple more. Now the game feels more connected and no matter which way the players want to go there will be breadcrumbs that connect to what is going on elsewhere. It took this cloud of ideas and in about fifteen minutes it solidified them into something more solid. Thanks for showing us this!

The biggest nugget I am getting from this (and it’s a drum Hank likes to beat but I am slow on the uptake) is that a reliable story accelerant is what happens if the heroes DON’T act.

You don't need another camera. You can do it on the iphone. You just need to set Autofocus lock on the object that you want to be in focus. So, set up your scene, put your book on the table and arrange your shot in the camera view. Then, tap on the object that you want to remain in focus and hold it for a few seconds. When the square starts to pulse, release your finger. The square will be gone and the Autofocus lock will appear and your object will be locked in focus. Here is a video on how to do it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nV7caqCVedh1aLM Android phones have a similar feature.

"Why don't fighters get things cool like spells." Last I saw that concept realized it was Book of the Nine Swords in 3.5. I recall at the time thinking this is all wuxia, fighter spells, anime awesome stuff putting fighters on par with Wizards, but in hindsight I realized it was the soft-pitch for 4th editions WoW style of play. So I'd suggest checking the Book out, maybe the 4th ed parts can be separated from the cool fighter spells.
@davidmc84782 жыл бұрын
OD&D had fighters become heroes at level four which made them much tougher and I think also gave them multi attack. Basic and 1e made fighter boring and then the plethora of new classes took the cool features you might give to a fighter. Although the subclasses are cool I don’t think the core class itself ever recovered
@toribiogubert77292 жыл бұрын
@@davidmc8478 I think when they got rid of the importance in equipament on 4e and 5e the gap between martials and spell casters became bigger. Also the changes on rules of Damage Resistances also didn't help the matter.

Unearthed Arcana for TSR AD&D had weapon specialisations for Fighters. It helped make Fighters interesting.
@Interfect7272 жыл бұрын
Well, they had to do SOMETHING for the fighter as it was the least played class at that time. But by the same token, specialization also started the 'power creep' that kept rolling through up to and including 4th edition.
@richardextall20022 жыл бұрын
@@Interfect727 For sure. I had a 9th/11th Assassin-Monk that became a legend.
@Xplora213 Жыл бұрын
@@Interfect727 amen to that. If I had to identify a single rule that broke the game, it is weapon specialisation - it turns a first level ad&d fighter into a second level ad&d fighter. For nothing. There is no opportunity cost for that bonus. It stacks with strength attack bonuses. I can see flavours with weapon style, maybe imbalance from the reaction rolls from the kits. But weapon specialisation (especially in long sword) is a gimme. And that’s garbage because we should have made the fighter stronger to start with.
