There are less than 12 hours left to join 52 Week Guitar Player before I close enrollment again for a few months. I’ll be closing the program again by end of day on Friday March 31st so we can officially start the April cohort. The program only resumed in mid-March. Before that it was closed since January. So when I say I’m closing the program again, I mean it. So if you’re an: 1. Adult male that plays at an intermediate level 2. Guitar used to be a big part of their life 3. Improve their knowledge of the fretboard, improv, compositional skill 4. Serious 5. Want cut and paste practice routines that were designed by a professional and are proven to work. You’ve come to the right place dammit! There are currently over 600 guitar players in our community who share many of these traits. If you’re a beginner, you’d probably find this program quite fast paced and challenging. You’re gonna make so much progress here that all your friends will get PISSED OFF but not even mad. Because we offer 1. This program offers a highly structured 170+ lesson curriculum. 2. Lessons come with a built in practice routine that will tell you exactly what to do step by step as well as WHY you're doing it AND when to move on to the next. 3. A Facebook group to share progress videos and get professional feedback. 4. Group Zoom coaching calls 3x/week to have your questions answered and get your playing roasted. 5. A new backing track shared every week for you to improvise over. 6. Accountability - we do this by making you share a progress video every week for 52 weeks in a row. If you fail to post, I personally call you out and you fail. 7. The best and most fun place to learn guitar on the internet 8. Very good looking instructors! Who I do not work with: a. Uncertain people b. Busy annoying high school students c. Anyone looking for an easy route to be good d. Information gatherers that never take action e. People only looking to learn parts of songs If you’re interested: Step 1: Visit this link and watch the video on the page: brandondeon.com/52wgp-video Step 2: Click the button below the video. Step 3: Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select a pricing plan. If you have any questions, reply to this email and I will answer as many as I can between now and the deadline. PS: The reason I'm closing the program after 90 students join is because we presently don't have the infrastructure to take more. If we took more, the quality of each student's experience would diminish. Some day we'll be big enough to take more. Okay, bye. - Brandon

It also helps if you can understand an analog clock and see that the circle of fifths is basically a clock - and this just occurred to me. A is in the 3 o'clock position and has 3 sharps. Eb is directly opposite in the 9 o'clock position and has 3 flats. Gb and F have 6 flats and sharps respectively.

Clockwise the notes are separated according to their 5ths, hence that after C is G; and counterclock the notes are separated according to their 4ths hence that after C is F. Within the circle there is the minor relative of the scales above (because the A minor scale is the minor equivalent of the C major scale = same notes A B C D E F G// C D E F G A B).

Obsessing over piano for a couple years made music theory a lot easier, I assume a lot of viewers are guitar players but if you learn all 24 major/minor scales on piano and learn them well you will be able to visualize keys very easily in your head. This can obviously happen on guitar but the piano is laid out so logically in literal black and white for you to visualize. Like, i don’t need to remember that a 4th up from F is Bb, i just see it in my head as a 4th on a keyboard since I drilled the scale so hard

If you plan to play with other musicians you should learn chord names and every way that someone might communicate a song to you. Within reason no one’s gonna expect you to know figured bass. I just mean know where chords are, Roman numeral analysis, read a bit of music, tabs, and maybe even piano roll. As a song writer and arranger I like to be able to write down my song ideas in a score. (I have used piano roll before) Bands (especially ones that already have music and or gigs) need someone who can pick stuff up and even learn stuff through communication. It doesn’t matter what techniques you know if you can’t learn songs.

1. Find an image of a clock and print it out. 2. C is in the 12 o'clock position (which is 0 in military time) and Gb/F are in the 6 o'clock position. 3. Write the note names in the corresponding positions around the clock as you see in the video. Each step away from C (which has no sharps or flats) indicates the number of sharps (going clockwise/to the right) or flats (going counter clockwise/to the left) the note has. For instance, A is in the 3 o'clock position. A also has 3 sharps. Gb is in 6 o'clock position and has 6 flat notes in that key. F is also at the 6 o'clock position and has 6 sharp notes in that key. Hope that helps.
