It's kinda weird how this all went down: First Klayton does a first recording where he had to deal with broken equipment and just play the best he can, with also having no sake in how it was produced... and it wasn't nearly up to par, then he does a re-recording to significantly better results, then he does a remaster of the re-recording, AND NOW he's basically remixing and reprocessing the old tracks again to potentially even better effects. It kinda reminds me of the dozens of different Remasters and remixes you find of... basically every single Metallica album, but especially for ...And Justice For All & Death Magnetic, which try to address the biggest problems of each of them (the lack of bass in the former, the later being brickwalled to fucking hell... both of them in general sounding pretty colorless), but this time around instead of a Fan remaster it's the original artist himself whose doing the overhaul, which is honestly really cool.

The difference between Klayton and Metallica is that Metallica likes to produce their stuff in a idiotic way, because Lars Ulrich is an idiot.

I would've wished Klayton would remaster all the brickwalled shit he's done. But nope that's never gonna happen lmao.

Onenemy was not on the original version of the S/T Circle of Dust album so the 1995 release was it's first release. It's still gonna be a bit weird for there to be 4 distinctive versions of the same album released across nearly 30 years.

Everything sounds nice and crisp, but I actually prefer the thick and heavy guitar sound of the original. That being said, this is my favourite COD song of all time, and it almost feels like listening to it for the first time.

Agreed. The original mix still has that charm about it. The ‘loudness' of this and the remasters didn’t help that much in my opinion.

needsmoreclipping I feel your frustration, but I also get that some artist do wanna change a few things when they hear something they made over 30 years ago, I get the perfectionist that Klayton is but I do agree he made the wrong decision with most of these remasters (I liked the 'Exploration' re-work though), thankfully the quality on his non re-releases still sounds pretty well. The Anix banned you? Why? I don’t get it.
@danandersson77684 жыл бұрын
@@GoblinSatyr I enjoyed the remastered versions of the old mixes as well. Good clarity between the instruments. Everything sounded beefier, especially the drums. I even liked the way he mixed his old guitar tone with the new, but this mix is too much and too loud.
@GoblinSatyr4 жыл бұрын
@@danandersson7768 The remasters sound like they're fully in front of you unlike the originals, however they just suffer from being the loudness war as the clipping guy said. All I want to do is listen to music that I enjoy without it being crippled by mixing and mastering mis-doings.
