Geez this is good stuff. Great drill, thanks Milo. Been digesting your channel lately and you’re a really good teacher. I’ve learned a bunch from Malaska but you’re filling in some missing athletic gaps.

You’re a genius! I’ve been having a hard time with a big draw, sometimes a pull hook or a push. I could even draw a pitching wedge trying to hit straight. Watching your take away showed me that I’ve been taking away too low thus the club comes too far on the inside. I tried taking the club away as you demonstrated and the first ball went straight and the contact was beautiful. I’ve tightened up my pattern considerably and don’t have to think of anything but the initial take away. Thank you so very much!

Natural club shallowing happens from allowing the right wrist to load on the way down. It's the same as we throw a ball - the throwing wrist loads as the arm is already moving forward. Most people can't or don't allow the trail hand to load because they're tense and paranoid of hitting the ball right. All of you that are afraid of the ball going right, TRY TO HIT THE BALL DEAD RIGHT. Try to do what it is you fear the most and you'll discover that it can't be done. Trying to prevent it is what causes it. The club will square itself. That's what it's designed to do. Although the golf club looks like a stupid stick it's actually a marvel of engineering and there's a reason it hasn't changed in 500 years!

“In and over the plane” at 1:28 changed everything for me. I had always done the opposite but having my hands do what you prefer allows me to shallow so much easier. Amazing what 3 seconds in a video can do for your ball striking. Thank you!

@@MiloLinesGolf Do you circle clockwise or counter clockwise?
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf 2 жыл бұрын
If your hands are straight out in front of you, clockwise, but may go slightly counter at first in the takeaway to help stand it up and exaggerate.

Hi Milo this is how I do: The Full Circle Turn & Twirl Golf Swing that is hidden in a regular looking highly effective golf swing. I hope you try it for yourself and tell me if am am right It matches my “twirl waggle” and the the two nicely go hand in hand. After aiming my club at my target and in my contained golf posture; as I am swinging my club back I use my left hand to turn the handle of my club anti clockwise at the maximum 1/4 turn it will go; and then immediately with both elbows of the arms ( and never with my shoulders and upper arms.) ; I raise my club upward. At the top of my swing I then immediately use my right hand to twirl the handle of your club clockwise to a full 3/4 turn as my body is simultaneously pivoting to my lead side to finish my golf swing By allowing my body to pivot to the right and then the left with 1/4 anti clockwise turn on the handle with my lead hand followed by a 3//4 clockwise turning of the handle with my trail hand i have accomplished a full circle: Correct? And so I am asking myself: Did I swing my club or did my club swing me? Cheers 😃👍⛳️🥂

Tony Finau frequently does this little circle in his preshot routine. I’ve noticed on video that I often use my arms too much when I shallow. This is something I was already working on but now I have a drill to use. I was simply trying to keep my hands higher (but let the club drop). I just got back from the range and this drill was easier than what I had been trying.

It's amazing it has taken golf nearly 50 years to officially teach what tennis players have done naturally for a very long time - that little forehand loop that creates all the power. Next, you just have to add a bigger grip and a 10-finger grip to get that right hand much better connected for power and you will gain at least a club's distance. Great stuff.

Mmm not really Paul. As a tennis player with a loopy forehand. I was coming from the inside way too much. It doesn’t lead to good results.

I'm trying every drill Milo shows whether I think I need it or not. First, the targeted drills and adjustments he's given me in online lessons have changed my ball striking in just weeks and brought my handicap from 12 to 7 despite feeling like I'm not making my usual share of 12 to 25 foot putts. Second, variable learning - gaining feel for the movements and clubhead/clubface awareness through trying new and different "tasks" - helps in any sport. The goofing off these juniors do hanging around short game areas is what gives them the magical hands and feels we see on the PGA tour.

In other videos you say you prefer to shallow with the ribs not the hands and wrists. So which one is it?
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf Жыл бұрын
If the hands work correctly so can the ribs. The majority of the lowering of the arm club unit is from the bends in the ribs but the flattening of the shaft is from the wrists and lead arm IR but there doesn’t need to be much flattening of the shaft but for many people this switch will feel drastic.

One thing you guys forgot to mention is it's much easier to perform this move if you have a softer grip pressure. It is probably natural for you but many of us hacks forget and strangle the club.
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf 2 жыл бұрын
Can help, yes. Grip pressure not so much as tension in wrists/arms/shoulders. Pros grip it tighter than you think.

@@MiloLinesGolf I'm not all in on super light grip pressure. Just aware that some people will throttle the club and in turn lose than oily wrist feeling for this drill. :)

would you use this feeling for chipping around the green and/or short shots (half wedge)? Thanks
@wallstreetoneil
@wallstreetoneil 2 жыл бұрын
As a person who naturally does this because of my tennis background, my experience is that I still feel this is happening in my brain on mid-length pitch shots, but when I'm really trying to zone in on a target landing spot as they get shorter, I force myself to be more back and through for exactness - less is more in pitching and chipping as long as you are still fluid in my experience.
