Great breakdown of the mechanics, I need to check out your other videos. Why/how does this type of swing create more overspin?
@menehunebvb5 ай бұрын
Thx. Because it's easier to wrap over the top of the ball like this when you lead with your fingers instead of your elbow.👍🏼

I swear youtube can literally read my mind because I was just thinking about this swing as this is the only way that lets me bounce

Its a shortened/short cut version of circular swing.

definitely sounds like an advantage on the beach, im wondering how much of an advantage you think it plays for indoor specifically. Also, is there anything related to better injury-prevention while using circular vs bow and arrow?
@menehunebvb5 ай бұрын
Supposedly, there are less shoulder issues with circular. Its definitely more powerful and allows for more overspin. It is the most used swing by high level indoor players for sure.

@@menehunebvb thanks for the input! What about elbow drive tho? I feel like majority of indoor players still elbow drive, but I could be wrong
@menehunebvb5 ай бұрын
@bballinbasics yes most indoor players do have elbow drive from what i have noticed. It's not as detrimental indoors because the sets are predictable, over spin is not as valuable, and the jump is so much higher.

@@sameerkhan7620 in my opinion, circular is better for beach, but low bow & arrow is good too.

I’ve been playing beach volleyball competitively for about 12 years, I definitely have a more unique swing, but it’s a very high contact point and usually hit more deeper into the court then straight down. Sometimes I feel like my hip is very flat so it doesn’t generate very much power. I was wondering, should I try to improve it because it’s harder to block and diggers have a hard time digging it. Is it something if it ain’t broke don’t fix it or should I always try to improve?

This is the exact thing I am trying NOT to do as an indoor player, as I also have no elbow drive. It makes my hits feel like its missing so much potential power. I habitually lose elbow drive as I am trying to time the ball in the air. I can do it without a ball, but once timing comes to play, i lose it. How do i fix this?
@menehunebvb2 ай бұрын
Sounds like you might be hitting the ball way on the way down... but i would have to see it to really make a determination

Nice analysis, I have a question about the Hand, should it be relaxed oder have tension in the Hand? Have a good one
