I did this exactly at the same time as you guys were doing in the video, and it worked, when you said to use the torso I did and I got say that I never felt my arm coming back with this amount of speed and power, I literally felt it couting the air, god I could feel mey right chest and right scapular still contracted for like 3-4 minutes after it, as odd as it seems. I don't know if it is a perfect form, I almost sure it is not, but I'll make it be. Thank you, thank you very much.

Enyoing to see you down at the beach. Would be really fun to see some full approaches slow motion in the sand as well! :)

I played A level years ago and naturally hit the ball well. Now I am so arm focused I am not using my lower body to create the "whip". I saw videos of my jump and my hips don't rotate, stays pretty square to the net, so all power has to come from my shoulder. I was doing thay in golf and now focus on lower body and my scores drop and hit it further. Will use these cues. Thank you.

I used to play basketball and my footwork while jumping w two feet was R-L-R and I am right handed. Should I consider trying to change my footwork or can I still hit hard spikes?
@chadlad56464 жыл бұрын
S. M you should definitely change, the approach holds a lot of importance and footwork is essential to power considering the “whip” of your body in rythm is literally where the power comes from. So yeah, change it to a correct approach. (Additionally, having a correct approach as a wing spiker helps with opening up towards the court and setter which improves power, control and eccentric stretching)

Dr. Cory Doofenshmirtz see the thing is when I jump L-R-L, I don’t jump as high.
@chadlad56464 жыл бұрын
S. M because you’re not mentally nor physically used to it yet. Your technique is not yet as honed and remember that your step-close is literally using the opposite muscles. What I previously said is enough a reason to learn the correct technique.

I'm right handed and used to play BB, my jump wld be R-L-R. when I started VB I realised to spike hard my torso needs to be in a proper position which is not achieved due to my jumping footwork, immediately watched a few volleyball players jump, switched the footwork to L-R-L, and most importantly understood the function of each step and now I'm the hardest spiker on field L- Gives the final speed and adjustment towards the set R- Converts the horizontal speed to vertical speed L- The final push also very important Just watch Yuji Nishida, though he's lefty just switch the footwork and you're gold

This extra tall dude doesn’t need an arm swing technique as he can spike from any position either on the ground or in the air. But anyway, great explanation!

his major issue was with shoulder pain, not lack of power
