Indeed. CM are masters at that, been hooked since the first album. For me, the song "Sin" forever redefined what modern prog metal should sound like.

Thats a very good synopsis of the 1st chapter. I agree that nine caters to a more popular audience. Being a guy who loves the sweeping prog vocals, I prefer the vocal style of the 1st chapter, but nine is still very good. Good to meet a fan with his head on straight

This was exactly my initial impression as well. 1st Chapter was consistenly great, Isolate had some even more immense songs and some softer/weaker songs, Nine causes even more "waves". However, as someone else mentioned in a review, this album is a "grower" and it did indeed grow on me. For these softer songs, check out the lyrics, there's some really great stuff in these song's lyrics. My favorite track though will always remains Burn After Reading. :)
