I should be ashamed of myself. I've called myself a metal fan nearly my whole life(55 years old) and while I heard of Cirith Ungol, I never heard them. Man, did I miss out alot.

Same here, for some reason. A metalhead since my teens (1988) but never actually had a chance to give them a proper try... 🤔

They came up as a suggestion on Apple Music while driving home with my son from Boston. I could not believe that I have never heard of them before. Cool album covers

Me too on all counts. I'm currently enjoying Dark Parade, have Forever Black on order and intend to catch up on their back catalogue in reverse order. I saw a woman, who is a huge fan, reviewing Dark Parade on KZbin and she said, during the review, that, sadly, the band has stated that they no longer intend to play live. That and the whole pandemic bullshit, just after releasing Forever Black, hit their touring intentions, their ability to promote the album and the album sales and their finances and ability to continue on, pretty bad. She also hinted it was a possibility that there might not, even, be any new albums after Dark Parade but if that was to be their swansong, it would really be going out on a high. Quite shite, eh? I hope they record more albums because I'm loving Dark Parade and feel quite stupid for not cottoning on to them, until now.

When I discovered them, they were disbanded. It warms my heart that they still play live, and at Wacken, mind you.

They reunited in 2015, put out an incredible full length in 2015 and an excellent EP in 2021. It's been awesome to see them getting the respect they deserve, and I can't believe they still sound so good.

They played Psych Las Vegas in 2021 and 2022, I actually discovered them at 2021. I bit embarrassed to admit I was a 44 year old metal head and had never heard of them. It's a shame they aren't super well known, I would put them up there with the likes of Judas Priest, Merciful Fate and a ton of legendary metal acts.

I used to go to 23rd Precinct in Glasgow in my youth where they specialised in obscura and thrash / speed / power Metal. I was always fascinated by Cirith Ungols' fantastic album covers. Great, relentless Rock too!

Wow, cannot believe these guys sound as good as they do after so many years. A decade ago I saw bands from the 90s that were totally shot, and these guys are still killing it. I picked up their first album sometime in the late 90s based solely on the awesome cover art and still love their records.

Join the Legion.
@kingghidorah6762 Жыл бұрын
Egal, when Maiden and PRIEST are gone don't fear - RAM is still here !!! 🔥🔥🔥
