I really like the wide-view shot that includes both the cockpit and the background. It really captures the feeling of the discovery flight I recently took!! Thanks for sharing your flights! It's educational.

Just got my PPL and going to Knoxville next week for my G7 SR22T. Been watching your channels and love how you explain everything so clearly for a newbie like me. Great resource. Keep it up Scott.

@@flying_scott Quick question. What is the average maximum nm distance for four average adults with an over night bag?
@flying_scott15 күн бұрын
@@Matt.Jernigan Rough numbers, if your avg pax is 175lbs and you have 50lbs of luggage in the tail... you can go about 350-375 miles (assuming wind is not a factor). About 2 hours of flying fully loaded. That's with reserve fuel.

Love your channel! I'm having tons of fun flying an SR20 G7 at a flight school that I work at. I'm based out of BTL and hopefully we'll get to cross path someday!

Great video. We fly from Indy to Detroit for Lions games regularly. Also went to the Lions/Colts game!

Hi Scott, Nice airplane & thanks for taking the time and effort to post these videos. Just FYI, most airline crew use North Up for planning (FMS set-up etc) and Track Up for the actual flight...Enjoy.

I meant to say scud, but came out scuzz…. And I think I like that more, I always say “scuzzy layer was hanging around” 🤣

Great vid loved it! If I'm going into a field that has a published approach for a runway I always pick it instead of the made up Garmin visual approach. Sometimes I'm told expect the visual approach only to be told "proceed direct (some fix on the approach). Want to be clear I'm not arm chair quarterbacking (what you did was perfectly fine) but figured I'd share nonetheless.
@flying_scott28 күн бұрын
Great point, and I agree with you. The only time I will do the garmin visual would be if they say expect or clear me for it. If ATC directs you to a fix after clearing you for the visual, that’s bad controlling and should never happen… BUT, it could, and in that case, having it loaded would save you the hassle. And there is no downside to loading the approach. I love these discussions, no armchairing at all ;)

Hey! I'm a new pilot who just got instrument rated a few months ago. I found this video as a good refresher on clearance void times and IFR XC procedures in general. Aside from that, I found this video very entertaining. Thank you for sharing your flight with us! (Side note: Have you ever been to KLAF?)

No, is the Purdue? I got my private back in 2000 and remember wanting to go there as I know they have a good flight school. But I was a slacker in high school and couldn’t get in.

Wow, that thing takes off real quick. The length of runway was overkill.
@flying_scottАй бұрын
Usually only need about 700-1200 feet, depending on weight and temps. It jumps off the ground this time of year.

Hi there, I enjoy your videos. Do new planes have a 'new plane' smell like new cars do? If so, does your G7 still have the new plane smell?
@flying_scottАй бұрын
100% they do!

Just curious why you decided to land at IND and not a closer airport to Lucas Oil Stadium. IND isn't nearly as GA user friendly as HFY or even EYE Plus they're closer.
@flying_scottАй бұрын
Aside from the fee, IND was super GA friendly. The controller(s), and staff at Million Air FBO were top-notch. I just chose distance, when I checked IND was 7.8, HFY was 12.8, and EYE was 10.8.. and truthfully, I like flying into big airports that add complexity. How else was I going to test PDC? ;)

I know you said your wife doesn't want to pursue the PPL... but maybe you should gift her an online ground school for Christmas 😉😉
