I have a pair of 9500-16x at 16.9.5 I'm about to put into production, but Cisco says MR is now 16.12.4 - I would assume same process - will try this. Thanks Network Base.

Check your switch is in install mode or bundle mode. This process is for install mode. In show version output you can find mode.

Some of these settings are not explained well such as the #switch 1 priority 15 command. Why would a 2 stack need a priority if you manually set the switch number and what is the priority refer to? Is 15 more favorable?

Can I use these procedure if upgrading from Gibraltar 16-12.3a to the recommended release Amsterdam 17.3.3a?

Yes.... But please check for licensing part because from 17.3.3a only CSLU smart licensing is supported.

@@networkbase8731 im a little lost. Currently my smart licence appears unregistered/eval expired. So It will make the switch unusable after upgrade to 17.3.3? Im scared.🤯

@@prgeek6309 no don't worry about it. If you are not using any license it's fine. In future if you are installing licenses you have to activate through CSLU ... you can upgrade and don't worry about license
