You could if your router allows it. Good luck convincing the ISPs to enable it on their side, though.

Exactly! Most ISPs (maybe all) do not support jumbo frames over the internet

i dont think that you can run jumpo frames in a broadband connection even if the first router(isp equipment supported the next one will not so we will have fragmentation and fragmentation will create other problems like unstable connection.

You're right. Broadband is a bit different. There's a bunch of different technologies in use there, like ATM, MPLS, and pseudo-wires. Frames (jumbo or otherwise) are used in the Ethernet protocol.
