I have found the AA shopping portal offers some nice additional value when buying things you want/need. Also a nice way to reset the expiration date on all miles earned.

I think the Platinum Select is a much better card long term. I don't churn so the Aviator Red was not the right choice for me. Great video.

From entering your AAdvantage number when applying. It will probably take 5-7 days to apply.

I really liked the video. I actually heard you can transfer AmEx MR pts to American Airlines; but it not direct. For example you can transfer MR points to Avianca or Etihad and then book American Airlines flights through them.

Damn it. I just signed up for this card yesterday for public 50,000 miles for a $2.5k spend offer. Just followed your link for 60k for $3k spend. When I get the card I'll call and see if I can get it switched

I have a question, I have the AAdvantage mile up card and will be applying for the AAdvantage Platinum Select card if I use miles from the mile up card and later get the platinum would I be able to use the free checked bag and preferred boarding benefit?

Unfortunately I only have the Green Card from Citi. Very limited and probably not a really great benefit. Have airline miles, but not many. Oh, well. At least I have a Green Card...lol

Just don’t upgrade from any citi card to AA Advantage. If you do, citi will not give you a bonus miles.
