A small motor, threaded rod, maybe a 3D printed gear (or jaycar should have something) and a simple frame would work, or go a cable setup and then you could use it on different heights too. Bonus points for a raspberry pie, and a sensor setup keyed for floors so you don’t have to manually turn on and off.

How about an elevated mag-lev style train with a platform slicing through the middle of the buildings? Make the 'track' walkable, maybe even have a few mag lev carts on the tracks for movable line-of-sight blocking, etc. The hover train could also be at the height of a building's platform...and that building could have a crane attached to the side, etc.

As a Necromunda player, I love this. Some of the Sector Mechanicus kits might make for some interesting mid-town buildings, as well as supply you with more gantries and legs, and the Zone Mortalis stuff should give you more pillars if you need them, as well as external elevator kits. I've always wanted to make something along the same lines as this build (although even in my imagination, my buildings weren't as big as yours) but also include access points at street level to enter an underground tunnel network to combine both street level combat, and claustrophic corridor combat. You might also want to look for the 90s era Necromunda bulkheads for some additional wall sections. I might also need to find that Cities of Death book.

Mikey my lad, we are birds of a feather haha. All that verticality will lead to interesting line of sight challenges (not a bad thing, because smart players will use opponents blind spots to advantage) - which I suspect will require some 'house rules' - possibly a modification of the Advanced Squad leader LOS rules to account for measured distance rather than hexes . . .

What are you spray the terrain with in 4:20 and what with the two different glues?
@Zorpazorp3 жыл бұрын
When building these massive kits I use three glues, Plastic cement for a nice long term plastic weld, Cyanoacrylate Super glue for a fast instant bond, which is quickened by an activator which is the spray you see, and then a really strong and impact resistant bonding agent like Tarzan's Grip General Purpose, which becomes like a gluey rubber. I use the first two on the actual contact surface, and the third as a filler glue when joining uneven surfaces and on the bottom side of joins with only a single plane of contact like the side by side floor tiles who need some shear strength :)

This is incredible! Looks like my Vertigus box isn't going to be assembled like its supposed to be now XD

Those pieces look lovely but IO hate that there is zero modularity with the wall sections. I might pick some up but they'll be going through a saw blade haha!

Yeah that was the biggest disappointment for me with the box. Your video definitely gave me ideas of how to chop it up though! The way you combined the 2 small wrecked walls into the large wall with the gash in it especially. Super excited to see where you take this!

This might be too much of a play feature, and the walls might be too thin... but I think it would be fun if you magnetized the doors. You could have them closed to block sight lines, then kick them in as units move through by popping them out with your fingers. It would feel awesome to do in game.
