This is the problem with CS games : a skyscraper don’t have a lot of people living in it compare to the reality.

I have a 350k city but I am stuck at that number because my computer cant do more, it has an i5 11600k 6c/12t and rtx 3070ti, i could do a little more up to 370k with a intel Xeon E5 2697A v4 16c/32t and I am stuck at minimum graphics with that because of the gtx 1060 6gb with the xeon

A real-world city with similar skyline would be a city with at least 5 million people. I wish the "scale" was more realistic in this game.

I agree. SimCity 4, released in 2003, is still probably the best city builder at realistic scaling that I have played.

What kind of computer do you have to run a city like this?

I9-13900k,4080,64gb. Before the performance patches this city was close to unplayable, but now it runs well enough to play normally. Still takes some editing effort to smooth it out.

I have similar specs, but 4070ti. My 320k city is unplayable. Everything is super slow motion. I wonder what could be the difference???

@@hsmcdonald I will say that I have spent a great deal of time tweaking my in game settings and I found this video from Gamer Nexus very helpful to understand how my system responds to each setting. kzbin.info/www/bejne/omWniWmjir5qbtU Even after watching that video I still had to tweak what Gamer Nexus recommended versus my settings, going through them one by one and watching how the game performed for some amount of time before deciding where was the best place for that setting to be. Also, I noticed if you try to use Nvidia's recommended settings from GeForce Experience that will not work at all. I had to completely turn off the GeForce Experience optimization (at least for my setup). I hope this might help you out! Cheers!

Hi, Ive gotten my city to 225k pop and the simulation is so slow that cars/rain/people slow down, stop, and then speed up again. My question is, did you have issues with medium residential density? Its been 20 hours and my medium density is still 0. Its never ever risen. Even my high density residential picks up with time. I have loads of schools everwhere, 2 to 3% tax for educated and above. I stream this game and it makes my poor pc scream. Ive afk'd for about 10 hours and feel soo bad for my pc.

Yes I am having the same issue with medium density residential. I was able to get a little boost by placing 2 or 3 universities at once but it did not last long. I've had to really change the way I expand my density as medium residential has not been an option for a while.

These graphics are too smooth and clean. No dirt, ware or any kind of detail. Not much of an upgrade. I'm just glad they left my modded og version alone finally.

How did you manage to get such smooth cinematics? Very powerful computer? Mine is only a couple of years old and all I get is studdering, even with low graphics settings, ever since I had passed the 200k. Now, I'm at 470k.

I have a 4080 and the certainly helps but after 200k it seems even the 4090 rigs will start to chug in CS2. I work the rest out with editing. Most footage is sped up and to get a realistic speed I need to speed up the footage by 300 to 400%.

Ho attraversato la stessa situazione passando da SimCity 4 a Cities Skylines. SimCity 4 ha avuto anni per creare risorse e mod e quando è uscito Cities Skylines, SimCity 4 è stata ancora per molto tempo l'esperienza di costruzione di città più completa. Ma era chiaro che quando Cities Skylines avesse costruito la stessa comunità di mod e risorse di SimCity 4, sarebbe diventato il nuovo standard e così è stato. Penso che stiamo vedendo la stessa cosa qui. Al momento Cities Skylines è un costruttore di città più completo, ma ricordo com'era al momento del rilascio, proprio come avevo fatto con SimCity 4. Penso che Cities Skylines II seguirà il percorso dei suoi predecessori.
