This series has been a staple of the channel since December 2020; however, we've hit the game limits and must bid Verde Beach a fond farewell. In this video, we'll tour the city, and I'll provide my thoughts about the build along the way. It's the end of an era, but it was a great time while it lasted!

Wait, this is actually a nice idea. We can imagine that old VB was completely destroyed or become unlivable due to some disaster, so they moved to a new location and re-started as a new city. With an initially master planned core that went on to grow out in different ways around it

It's insane how many parts of it are tied to my personal memories living mostly alone during the pandemic. It’s been a long time coming but it’s crazy to see how much you’ve improved not on but your skills with the game, but your skills as a content creator. I absolutely love the new editing style and it’s amazing to see how detailed and grand your builds are now when I remember not too long ago you still struggled with the slope terrain tool. I've watched this series from the beginning, and I must admit, it's been a joy! It's sometimes hard to believe where this city came from, the stories and lore that have been built, and the fact that it makes so much sense! From seeing the old freeway going down to downtown being replaced multiple times until it was little more than a glorified street, the way the lumber, farm and oil facilities have been redeveloped over the years, and just the general growth. It's been a wonderful journey! Thank you for allowing us to join you on that journey.

I know. Phil had me tearing up too. For a couples of seconds, I dd not know what was going on. I was like "Why is this making me cry? Dammit!!!" I think he is genuinely appreciative of all the support. I am sure he never imagined a community of strangers from around the world embracing his work and cheering his progress. People are up at 2:30 AM local time to watch his live streams. Who does that? That is some awesome support and it connects on a personal level.

I happened upon your channel one fateful day back in mid 2020 during one of the many lockdowns we had. I was honestly stuck on how to build a decent city and was watching so many creators but your calm and funny demeanour sucked me in. I didn’t know what mods were, I just watched and laughed and built as best I could on my Xbox. I remember the first episodes of verde beach, pausing and building along with the video trying to get it just right. I ended up buying a decent enough gaming laptop because of you. I’ll never forget the beacon of happiness and laughter you were in those early days of Covid and the amount of inspiration you’ve given me in the way I build things in this game. Respect the topography Thanks Phil Tim

I started this series at episode 79 at the start of Playa Del Fuego, and immediately became hooked to this series and channel. Although I missed the first half, your design in vanilla was a strong motivator to push myself to actually focus on the little details and beautify my cities, since I put hundreds of hours into my builds without mods and still (mostly) play that way. It's sad that this series has come to an end, but I'm glad I found it and have stuck around to see it through. Thank you!

I’ve been watching this series for years now while finishing nursing school and starting my career in the middle of the pandemic. Coming back to it many nights when I was absolutely ridden with anxiety, and actively dealing with the nightmare that my life was during that time, this series and your calming voice gave me a sense of normalcy and relaxation. You helped me get to sleep and block out the horrors I was witness to, and I’m so grateful. I never ever comment on videos but this time feels special and I just wanted to thank you for sharing these videos! I can’t wait to see your channel grow more and your success to come with Cities Skylines 2.

Thank you Phil for putting so much time into Verde Beach and actualizing our ideas and suggestions. Like many others who have been here from the start this build means so much to us like it does to you and has set a precedent in the entire CS1 community. So from the bottom of my heart thank you for doing what you do. It's sad that VB has come to an end but with all this experience and knowledge we can dream big for whats to come is CS2. Maybe even a Verde Beach 2 in CS2, as some comments mentioned? I think everyone here is on the edge of their seats to see what you'll do next and we are all so exited to see it and be here for it!

I feel like crying. Found this Channel by coincidence and have been here from VB 1 I never thought that I will get emotional over an end of an Cities skylines series. But here I am and I wanna say thank you. Your content is amazing. After work, middle of the night, when I felt good, when I felt bad, on sunny days, on rainy days whenever a new episode came out I’ve been there. I could watch your content all day every day. You’re just different, the way you bring up ideas, your excellent way of explaining and entertaining as well as Story telling. All I wanna say is thank you so much for this amazing ride called verde beach. ❤️

I picked up this series when I got the game on console a couple of years back (now on PC), but the way you built Verde Beach truly inspired me with this game. But it was also a joy just to watch you. I continue to be a fan, and to watch your content. You deserve all the success you've had, and all that will come. Thank you.

This was the first Cities Skylines video series I ever watched. I'd just bought the game and was struggling to get the hang of it and this vanilla build gave me a lot of guidance. Then Clearwater County got me into playing modded builds and I've never looked back. Thanks Phil and keep up the great work!

I started watching this series around when founders park was built, and its been my go to whenever I got stressed or needed some good background to do homework. You made city planning ideas easy to follow which has improved both my builds and my participation with my small city in town halls. I cant wait to see what you build in CS2 and how clearwater county shakes out

Wow! What a beautiful walk-through. This brought back so many memories of previous videos and from the pandemic. During chaotic times, it's nice to have a dependable series. A real comfort I got back into Cities Skylines because of these videos and your knowledge. You've also really expanded my understanding of how cities function in the real world. Thank you and I can't wait for more CS2 videos!

I look forward to Verde Beach 2.0 in CS2. Can't wait to watch you learn the game and evolve your new builds. Keep up the amazing work here and on Twitch.. and just as a person!

I remember playing along for the first 10 episodes. After that, I thought, OMG, there is so much to do! The fact that you were so thoughtful and curated the videos to focus on one or two things at a time was so nice. This is the first series of practically ANYTHING I've seen on KZbin where I was there from beginning to end, as it was happening. You helped me stay inspired to play, you helped me get through the pandemic, and I really appreciate you, your channel, your vibes... ALL of it! Can't wait to see what other Mulligans await in CIites Skylines II.

All good things must come to an end, and this has been a heck of a ride. I stumbled upon this series quite by accident, largely binged the Verde Beach videos that were out at the time because it felt so refreshing to see a vanilla build get highlighted (even if you really started to stretch the term "vanilla" after a while), and this series played a large factor in me buying Cities Skylines when it and several DLCs went on sale. And I have no regrets, as even though the game has it's quirks (I still can't get over a city's highest import and export being the same good) it can be a very relaxing, zen experience to just grow and develop a city from nothing over time, especially when you try and get thoughtful about builds. I'm now looking forward to CS2, both playing it myself and seeing what you do with it. I know you've already started, but I get the feeling your hands are a bit tied on what you can do and show until the game is officially released.

This was the series that brought me to your channel and also what re-ignited my enjoyment for the game itself after it was just sitting in my steam library for some time then, because it showed me what you could do in the game if you really got into it and I wanted to be able to do that too. Thanks for the ride, it was great fun!

This and Clearwater County are the YT series that defined CS:1 for me. Congratulations on completing such a monumental build that had such a profound influence on how I and countless others played this game. I actually got a little emotional at the very end of the video when the jazzy outro played for the last time. I'm happy to have been a Patreon for so long, and cannot wait to see what you wind up doing with CS:2. Well done, Phil. ❤

It has flown by since 2020, thank you for that and I look forward to Cities Skylines 2 with you and the community. 😁😁

Verde Beach has been great fun to watch all the way from the beginning. Catching some of the live events and hearing Phil react to the incoming Tsunami especially, not to mention the winding story of the town and the peek into a Planners work life that the series brought to us as nobody else can. It was informative and even educational, and also consistently fun to watch as it unfolded. I'm looking forward to Phil's CS2 City play through already, almost more than playing CS2 myself.

I stumbled upon this channel after binging Biffa fixes and my first episode was #84, burying the the rail lines at central station. Seeing the meticulous work done to follow pre-existing development and truly protect and preserve it was very different from any other approaches I had seen. I decided to go all the way back to the beginning because I really wanted to know how it all came to be. And I caught just in time for the series end! What a great journey! In the most flattering possible way, this was my favorite thing to watch right before bed. The calmness and sense of appreciation of things Phil brings into the build really cements the quality of enjoyment. Here’s to all the great things to come!!
