I didnt even know that you can go skiing in Kanada. I thought yes Snow you have like in Alaska and Calgary but the Rest I did not think so.

A couple name ideas: Kootenai Springs; this draws inspiration from the kootenai people that live in the area and would give a reason to build a hot springs nearby. Another suggestion: Marmot creek, named for the marmots common in the area and would also give a name for the creek next to town

I go for a bunch of suggestions for that small town I would suggest to name main street as Old Trans-Canada . Prior the hiway construction, the traffic passed on that street. Maybe an old/abandoned furniture factory. The wood was the main resource for employment in the past. There was a saw mill but it burnt 40 years ago. The sawmill provided wood for the furnitures factory. As the sawmill disappeared in flames, the furniture factory missed of its main resources. They tried to import wood from the other sawmills it the area but it failed. The furniture factory closed. The city council refused to allow the demolition. They hoped another business could uses the old facotry but it never happened. Since the factory closed, the main economic activity is the tourism. The city council managed to build a regional park along the river. In the winter, people can do cross-country skiing, snowshoeing,. In the summer they can go biking, walking.

I am Calgarian and I go through these towns every few months (or stay in them) and this is absolutely on point! Every detail you add reminds me of Banff/Canmore down to the concrete barriers on the parking spots (those seem to be quite common in the area). Excellent job and I cannot wait for the next episode!

Great build moose, and I like the snowy look. Excited to see how you do ski resort. A terrain levelling asset is basically a non functional invisible building, so just like a house the terrain will conform to the asset. I use them in my newest build and they’re very useful.

always enjoy your builds and the final result which looks like a believable place you could see driving. needs like a Tim Hortons or McDonalds . what i would like to see is groups starting to make stores that you would see in their region/country. that would be pretty cool. they need to make ski hills that you could customize too, like t-bars or chair lifts. there is/was a newspaper Calgary Sun which would more likely be the paper for the area. you did say you used Spruce trees for the area...how about Sprucewood Pass

Just looked up the map on PDX and it says "not compatible with your game version"....should that be concerning or should I just ignore and add? I'm never sure about that but suspect I should avoid? Would love to try out the map...I've driven the Calgary to Cranbrook routes so many times and Calgary to Vancouver a bunch...love the interior town/cities and also the small ski towns...would be a fun build!
@canadianmooseplays5 күн бұрын
@@northernfarmsim yeah I got that as well and I’ve had that for a few other maps. I’ve tried them and had no issues so I think it might be a thing that happens with maps made on older versions. Personally I’m not to concerned as I’ve had no issues YET fingers crossed

@ OK awesome I’ll give it a try. I only just managed to get back into the game today since the update… I got locked out and then had to go and reinstall the game and then basically try to reload with no mods and slowly rebuild everything back up until finally today I could get back into it.
