Cities Skylines - Thando: 01 - First downtown suburb

City of Thando is nestled in between four main rivers meeting at its shores. Surrounded by mountains all round, the city is bathed in lush green plains in the summer months, and icy cold snow-capped mountains in the winter. The fresh waters from the mountains, coupled with the melting snow in the spring months, leads to flowing rivers and lakes on its landscapes. This is the story of a city that developed on these plains.
In this episode:
We will build the first suburb that lies on the fringes of the downtown area. This is a gentrified area which embraces the natural greenery of the area.

Mmmmaaaaatttteeeeee way to keep us in suspense waiting so long after publishing the map creation! This is exciting - a whole new city to see grow and thrive! I get a very certain feeling about this suburb you just created. It feels like it had a real downturn in the 70's and 80's. Lots of places running into disrepair, perhaps some high crime and gang violence. But now it looks like the suburb has definitely turned a corner. Plenty of mix between old and new buildings, with some renovated ones trying to keep themselves ticking over before the succumb to the heavy weight of time and progress. Also, I love what you've done by working with the landscape more in this episode. Minimal amount of terraforming and more working along the contours of the map, using the quays and multi-level constructions to follow the natural ebb and flow of the terrain. Really looking forward to seeing this in my inbox every week. Keep it up as always, mate!
