Hello, is this beautiful music available on Soundcloud now?

What a beautiful video. I am planning a trip to Sicily in the fall solely to visit these monuments. I have two questions for you. What music is this? What time of the year did you visit these temples? The music fits so well with the video. Good job overall on everything.

Thank you :) 1. We produce the music for all our videos (I'm the Editor and Composer while my father films the places). We're considering putting all the soundtracks up on Soundcloud for download in the future also. 2. This was filmed in April. Hope you have a great trip :) - Cities & Monuments

Cities & Monuments. The video and music are both beautiful. Question could I visit Segesta in the morning and Selinunte in the afternoon? Would this be a good trip? I really want to visit these sites.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. You could absolutely make both of those within a day :) We did all the three temples at separate days however. But if you're only doing the two you mentioned that drive is no problem. Hope you have a good trip and thanks for watching again :) - Cities & Monuments

There appear to be more intact temples than in Greece itself. I'm curious, travelling in Greece, visiting the temples on mainland and the Peninsula, I felt that there was something special about the places chosen to build them. specially in Delphi and Olympia. Did you and your father feel that there was an atmosphere (I cannot describe it better) where sacred sites were? the site chosen by the ancients or was I overawed by the history.

@anitaapsitis262 The temples didn't make this places sacred; the temples are there BECAUSE this places were already considered sacred. There's a concept called Genius Locus (Sacred Sites). This professor of History of Architecture explains it perfectly in minute 34:07. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHbYmqF_l7lrh68&pp=iAQB

@anitaapsitis262 m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHbYmqF_l7lrh68&pp=iAQB The link above is from an amazing course on the history of architecture, and in the minute 34:07 the professor talks exactly about what you were wondering! And yes, there is something special about the sites of these greek temples...

I don't understand why the doric columns of Segesta temple doesn't have fluting, why they have a bases and why they have astragal ? I am asking this because greeks were so conservative in their architecture, so there must be some kind of explination for that. I am thinking that these columns are prototype for later etruscan version of doric order. Anyway nice video of these gorgeous places !

Because in real segesta temple and ruins aren't Greeks, but of people of "elimi", a native people of Sicily.

@@riverlizard9820 That is not my question, i am wondering about arhitectural deviations from classical greek doric order. The greeks were very conservative about their architecture, especialy doric order and i do not think that this particulars in Segesta temple come from influence of Elimi natives of Sicily.
@riverlizard98204 жыл бұрын
@@АлександарСимовић-ы8д the reason is because elymies people are different, look this video, you understand better kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zn3Zd3aPd5eLodE Check on Wikipedia... Elymies aren't Greek and are pre Indo-Europeans... That's no influence, is that segesta is an elimi city, not Greek.

As a sicilian who several times went to and studied these temples, the only answer I could give you is that this particular temple in Segesta was not finished, due to a turmoil period with the Carthaginians and other Greek polises, which was not uncommon during that time in a island like Sicily which was not a united country.
