I really like how the police department is working hard to bring sanity on the roads. Let’s also start a war against corruption. And as a nation we must work towards getting a comprehensive national database it’s been too many years and we still don’t have a plan as a country. Police should not impound your vehicle for a minor traffic violation. You’re issued a ticket or citation and given a date to appear in court period! And all start with a solid national identification policy.

Ghana should have no problem generating money internally. And that I mean, instead of the hoopla with the e-levy, attention should have been focused on motorists. There are a lot of violations on our streets. To make it easier to track such offenders, every district/municipality should have dozen courts to just process traffic citations. Money collected from such offences can be used to develop the community. Let it be municipality based. It should not go into national coffers. People love cars in this nation and the attention should move to that area to bring discipline in our behavior. Lot of drivers don't have license to operate a vehicle, broken tail lights, unfunctional lights at night, no insurance on most vehicles on the streets, & others. If these are tracked, the cities will be well-off to take care of our streets. Ghana, let's do the right things. We can get there too.

The driver of the black Land Rover has to have his driver's license revoked, this brazen lie is just annoying. Discuss with the police and in court they are all good and pay the fine. Furthermore, action must finally be taken against this DV plate. How can you drive on the street without a license plate? This disrespectful behavior is unacceptable and must be punished even more severely.

From the narratives of the offenders, the police should have just mounted a signage there before embarking on this exercise. The policeman who was also opening the place for these drivers should be arrested and reprimanded.

Well, it is about time. Letting the drivers leave their cars there to be taken for processing is the key. Just issuing a ticket & thinking the driver will show up in court can not happen in Ghana. This approach is better until we get our database fixed where we can pick people from their houses for not being in court. Of course, the vehicles left there have to be guarded by some officcers until owners pick them up. If the police can do this all over the city, money collected for motorists violations can fix our potholes on the streets. Let us stop giving money to police officers on the streets. It does not solve our problems. After all they are paid as professionals.

The authorities know there's a unapoved route used by drivers to make a U turn. Instead of fine these drivers every day for the same violation, just block or seal off the route and solve the issue. Lol but no money must be paid in fines. SMH Ghana dey bee ooo

@@Ghanadiaries my point is instead of draining money from tax payers, use other preventative measures eg; Permanently block the spot that was open. Arrest the culprits that opens the temporary blockade regularly. erect a sign that indicates what shouldn't go on there. issue warnings and education to drivers that have broken road regulations. But on a day to day or week to week basis, our public servants continue to fine drivers without finding the root cause of why they have broken this particular road regulations and stopping it permanently. the money they've accumulated from majority of these drivers they've charged for just violating the road regulation could be used to cover all i've listed with a lot of money to spare. again this isn't rocket science. but im sure our public servants have our best interest. so my opinion does matter. 😁

You are expecting the motorists to use their common sense concerning road markings and blockages meanwhile you those in authority can't use your common sense to do the right thing... There are roads in the capital with marking but just park and these city guards will come from nowhere to clamp your car...

No, a driver should know the rules of the motorway. Police all around the world make money from drivers who break driving rules. This is an incentive for drivers to make the right decision even if the police is not present
