I think it's either phosphor bronze or pure copper. Both of these materials are notorious for long looping chips, which goes to show the chip breaking capability of the LFV system.

Definitely Copper. I've cut miles of copper, it's no fun when it comes to chip control. The LVF also works wonders on plastics.

@@brandons9138 Also good on stainless. I use LFV on turning, grooving, parting off (if required), and drilling. Made some knockout pins out of 303 stainless on an L20, using sub spindle as a support. 14mm dia bar turned to 1.8mm diameter x 105mm long in a single cut with LFV. Sweet as a nut👍
