I heard this song today for the 1st time playing at a hotel where I was making a delivery and I had to Shazam it. I'm it. It was the reggae version. And even though I like this version, I think the reggae version captures the spirit even more so..

When you're so long gone, you can't help yourself When you're so dead wrong Let alone no one else Well the children still dying in the streets The babies still living with disease The cops got guns, the poor folks got sons Who work for Mr. Franklin every week If you've come looking for hard time Hard times ain't hard to find Cause we've been given that lifeline Only once in a lifetime Baby we were born Maybe we were born To be sure ... to endure When the storm comes Got them sad eyes Got them cat eyes Got your angels tired From saving your life So you would be best To contain yourself Before you end up killed His bare feet Touching her bare feet The air breaths sweet At the mountains peak And I forgot What the wise man said About that ancient thread If you've come looking for hard time Hard times ain't hard to find Cause we've been given that lifeline Only once in a lifetime Baby we were born Maybe we were born To be sure ... to endure When the storm comes Baby we were born Maybe we were born To rejoice rejoice When it succumbs

Let The Drummer Kick and Lifeline, makes me wonder if Citizen Cope and Citizen Cope are diferents bands. Jajajaja
@robertstevens70336 жыл бұрын
The difference between the Citizen Cope album and the new ones is both evolution and him now having his own label where he can make the music he wants. Instead of making music to please his corporate overlords.
