I bought a Citizen for my birthday this year as well. I got a second hand eco drive and am waiting for the replacement crystal and a new strap to arrive (the mineral glass had some scratches). Citizen just like Seiko are rather stingy when it comes to dispensing with Sapphire. I like the big medicine hands on this model, I wouldn't mind that myself. Citizen make some great watches, I notice their particular sweet spot is around £195. I paid £50 (plus about £30 for strap and replacement crystal) for mine, but I reckon it was about £200 new. I hope you had a good Birthday!

1:35 It's not an Eco-drive, it's an automatic. I lost you right there. Why would you waste money on a trash mechanical watch, when you have so many fantastic Eco-drive Citizen Promasters, which offers more quality and are practically infinitely better, in literally every way possible? Well, I don't get it... but whatever. It's your money. Hasta la vista.

If only the eco drive promaster had a saphire crystal.

@@Erik-748 Imho, sapphire is over-hyped anyway. I've never seen a scratch on a mineral glass, except on youtube. And btw, quartz is still a better choice than mechanical, even with a plastic glass.
