Citizen Series 8 - Is it Great?

In the summers when primary school was closed (I was 10 years old in 1970) I went and worked in a furniture shop and gave the little money I earned to my mother. Every morning when I went to the super for a snack of artificials I stopped in a window and looked at a CITIZEN with a blue plate. I distinguished it from many other watches at first glance without knowing what CITIZEN stands for. Now I know that I was attracted to its blue color because most of the watches I owned had blue dials. When I finished the job, my mother returned the money I gave her and paid to buy the watch. My friend, it's a beautiful CITIZEN, it has a blue dial, it has a very good time, what more do you want? I wish it always shows you happy hours.

I'm not sure how I feel about the case design, but if I received this watch as a gift I'd definitely wear it and I bet the design would grow on me. Citizen is one of the greatest companies making affordable watches, but you can spend more on a Citizen & still get good value for your dollar. A "non-affordable" Citizen that I covet personally is "The Citizen" (AQ4091-56L) : a premium quartz watch that can rival Grand Seiko's nicest quartz offerings. Anyhow, enjoy your watch in good health!

Hi Vonkruel. Thanks for continuing to watch my videos. I really appreciate it. I was a little surprised to see that other watch you mention is a solar. Citizen does make some great watches. The case shape of this one is right up my alley, since I’m into that retro more squared off , angular look. It’s been getting a lot of wrist time.

Hello halimj7. Thanks for watching. I haven’t removed my bracelet yet but it’s held in with spring bars. It should be an easy task to remove if you want to change it.
