Wycliffe Oparanya's early life Born to in Butere, in 1956, the 65-year-old attended Mabole Primary School before he proceeded to Butere Boys High school for his O-levels and on joined Kisii High School for his A-levels. From there he joined the University of Nairobi in 1977-1980 for his Undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). If some of these nominees have been in leadership before, let’s look at these: one of the biggest hospitals in their counties, high schools(one national and another mid level), ( one primary school), ( one tertiary institution and one technical institute) and lastly look at the bus stops and the roads). If you took even two of these parameters, it could give you an idea of what to expect once they are confirmed as CSs.

Guys there were question regarding Joho's papers, but he later on joined I think St.Paul University, around the same time that Sonko graduated . I think he did it to shade of that paperless tag. H.E. Wycliffe A. Oparanya has a Bachelors of Commerce Degree from University of Nairobi (1977 - 1980). Additionally, he has a Master of Business Administration (Finance option) Degree from UoN. He's currently pursuing a PhD in Economics from University of Dar Es Salaam. Oparanya who is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) K had an illustrious career in Accounting and Finance with over 23 years of experience, having worked for various companies including; Earnest & Young where he was a Senior Audit Manager from 1980-1995. In 1995 he joined Kenya Aerotech Co. Limited where he served as the Secretary to the Board and later on Group Finance Controller. He served as MP of Butere for 10 years. During the coalition government, he served as Minister for National Planning. I doubt President Kibaki ever allowed illiterate individuals near the Ministry of Finance & National Planning.

@@graceamadi1096 Kakamega County was a markedly better run county with H.E. Oparanya as Governor. Kakamega is a picture perfect representation of the fact that devolution can bring services closer to the people & governance to their doorsteps as opposed to the Centralised government structure we had under Moi & going backwards. There is definitely a functional municipal market in Kakamega Town built under Oparanya's regime. Street lighting did not do itself because I personally have lived in Kakamega long enough to remember when there were a handful streetlights. Today we have luminous thoroughfares all over the county. Many intra-county roads have been built under Governor Oparanya opening up Kakamega County. The blotch on Oparanya's legacy is the attempt to built a Level-5 hospital which went awry as only 60% of the structure was completed.
