I remember this they did the crime they pay for it with their lives, they knew the risk

I thought the Malaysian judicial system handled this case professionally and fairly. At the time, the judge had little discretion to not apply the death sentence, and the two were as guilty as sin. I wonder if their continued denials despite all the evidence and the fact they had travelled so many times to Malaysia in the last couple of years, actually went against them?

@@NinoNiemanThe1stI agree it was very sad. This was chamber’s 13th trip. Barlow was living in the home of a woman who’s boyfriend was a notorious drug smuggler. He talked Barlow into going with chambers to Malaysia. Barlow had never been before and chambers did not wan to work with someone who had no experience smuggling drugs but eventually relented. It was very sad indeed. :(

Yes the death penalty was mandatory for trafficking. The only other option was acquittal and it was obvious that there was no ambiguity about their guilt.

They deserved a second chance life imprisionment and a caning the death penalty for a first drug offence is too harsh they must be punished but not with death those drugs were being taken out of the country so werent intended for malsysians each case must be judged on its merits

This was chambers 12th or 13th trip abroad as a drug courier and it was Barlows first trip and he was pushed into it by his landlady’s boyfriend. I don’t believe either should have been executed but especially Barlow.

Ini sebenarnya isu sengaja nak provoked Malaysia. Kerajaan Australia ingat, kerajaan Malaysia ni tak kuat, tak tegas, boleh Di buat main-main, hamba jajahan. Bila kena dengan TUN M Yang anti penjajah, mampus terus.

I personally oppose the death penalty, even though there were countries like Malaysia (where I originally from) have death penalty for smuggling illegal drugs, I call it brutal and barbaric. I do not agree at all.
