You need a Marina in that bay area now. some private docks also for some of the houses on the beach front will make it look more authentic. also, a condo is just an Apartment, a very expensive apartment that you own like a House. other than that it's just an apartment with nice features.

31:17 - 32:24 This is so hilarious ... look at the lane arrows of the backep up road. Both are going straight on, not right turns allowed. But adding the timed traffic light corrects the outdated lane arrows and now right turns are possible. IMHO allowing right turns solved the issue, the traffic lights hardly contributed anything at all. 26:14 The pattern of the backed-up detour route would suggest this, too. 18:20 These bridge could easily merge to become one single bridge system. The ramp or "stairs" could be lined up with the little park that connects to the pedestrian crossing ...

Nice build; it's got strong Miami vibes. Your new subways can both be extended to the Tearantula Hub by connecting through the two metro tunnels that were abandoned - one to Bentealey and the other to Dean Square iirc. Don't be afraid to connect to the existing cross-mountain subway; that would save on costs.
@Pystro
@Pystro Жыл бұрын
I was going to say the same: For the metro station that you connected at 29:32; don't you still have some spurs coming out of your Tearantula hub that are pointed to go under the mountain in the general direction of that side of the map? It might make sense to give people in the Dock District an easy way across the mountain range by metro rather than only around it by train.

Love the build (as always) buuuut I don’t know about a few things. The density seems far too high for reclaimed land to withstand, seems a little out of place. To have the lower round building and that triangle one to act as gateways near the bridge. With lower density slowly building up to those points. It would be good to use the tiered seawalls to allow office workers/tourists to sit on the water to have their lunch. You’d also expect to see smaller water channels either side where the reclaimed land connects to mainlands to stop water stagnation, or kayakers to avoid getting hit by large ships. Finally, the area screams for some sort of Victorian folly, like a mega tall streetcar bridge or cable car to cross the water. Can’t wait to see how this develops, keep up the incredible work!!

I love it! I like how you filled in the bay. I have a map I'm working on now that has a very small area and a beautiful coastline. This gives me some ideas for what I can do with this since the actual building area is so small. In the US, there are places such as Florida where it's warm year-round that people go in the winter months from the colder areas of the country. In addition to renting a house, some of these "snow birds" as they're called have purchased condominiums to stay for the three months of cold weather then migrate back up north for the summer. There's a similar setup in the mountains for some people who have a summer condominium, or for winter sports where they go skiing in the northern areas such as the Green Mountains in Vermont and the White Mountains in New Hampshire. In addition to individuals purchasing condominiums, there are time share arrangements. This is where people buy into a program that allows them to stay in various places for so many weeks at a set rate. A friend of mine does that and spends his "points" at various hotels that are part of the program he belongs to. We stayed at one place that has fully furnished apartments. There is also a pool and a recreation area, if people want that too. We just stayed in the apartment at night and traveled about during the day visiting various historical railway sites to gather information for a Trainz Railway simulator project we were working on at the time.

The likes of New York, Chicago or Tokyo would disagree that it would topple in hours... all those cities are built substantially on reclaimed land, as are many others around the world. Building on reclaimed land is expensive, but it's a problem that was solved back in the 19th century...

Hi Biffa, the fact that u built skyscrapers on reclaimed land worries me cuz skyscraper are heavy and reclaimed land sinks a lot. @simongeard4824

Actually that's pretty normal... most of the world's biggest cities are built on reclaimed land. The catch is that they need foundations that go all the way down to solid bedrock, which tends to make for a very expensive development... especially when you're also needing to keep water out of the dig...

Would be perfect to build some cycle infrastructure for the tourist on the islands. The cycle lanes and paths could extend all the way tot the new metro station (the underground one with the crossing platforms) and you can pretend that they can rent a bicycle from there :D

@@paulknight5018 It's a mod that allows you to modify a building like those "serve no purpose skyscrappers" and assign a type (residential, office, commercial, industrial) and set an amount of living space/jobs onto it. That way useless buildings can be made useful and fill in a purpose. It's been a year or 2, but I used to set residential population in my skyscrappers to make my downtown area VERY dense (with nightmarish traffic jams as well if I didnt build my roads properly). Pretty useful and is necessary in many custom assets downloaded from the workshop. Edit: Search for "Ploppable RICO Revisited 2.5.3"

I am hoping the new version fixes the unrealistic bunching of planes, cruise ships and cargo ships. The amount of traffic should be scaled to available ports in the city, but there should be a demand indicator to let the player know when they should build more ports to accommodate demand. Also, having anchorages as a type of stop for ships would be nice. Even in large cities, ships must anchor outside of port to wait for a pier side berth to become available.

Biffa, bro....I was practically screaming at you for over half this video when you left people with no right-turn allowed at the intersection to your new area when you very first made it - forcing people to awkwardly go around several blocks and cause major backups. Seriously for 25 minutes... 6:40 to 32:20. The funniest thing though is that you never even realized you had screwed up (even though you actually initially fixed the lanes going the *other* direction)! In the end, adding the timed traffic light changed the right-of-way automatically for you so that right turns were then allowed and traffic immediately started clearing LOLOL

An idea: would it be interesting to build a large section of the city that is completely separated from road and rail network? Only way people and goods would be able to come and go would be by ship. For example in Biffalo Countea there is a large undeveloped island on the E6GSY-region that could have high density housing and business but only connected to the mainland regions with direct ferrys lines and cargo port. The island could have isolated metro and transit system. I also propose a name for the island: The Nest. It goes with the egg theme.

the bridge mostly works correctly, most problems happen when it's just placed and the pathing and vehicle ai's haven't updated yet
