This song symbolizes very well from my first relationship. In the beginning, we were only school mates, then after I took her to a military ball, that's when days later from that day we decided to date. We were so happy together and she used to spoil me so much with her hugs, kisses and her confidence to back me up when I didn't have the words for things to say. Eventually, things changed dramatically. When she was focusing on college, I started to feel clingy because we used to see each other a lot. As for her, I tried really hard to make plans and do something nice for her like she told me to to be better, but any chance I took, she always made an excuse to not be with me. It eventually became one-sided where she needed to take control of the relationship and my choices. It became very toxic, and I didn't want to believe it; but I had to. Because it made me someone different that my family didn't like, and I learned from myself "This isn't me. This is isn't a person, it's just a thing meant to entertain her whenever she was bored." It wasn't long until late October last year that she broke up with me, because I knew despite her telling me it's not working, I needed to escape from the toxicity anyway. Because she grew tired of me; and after long, dark and sad moments throughout this year, I'm finally able to make myself better for myself, and I'm no giving up on love. Thank you, Citizen Soldier for making this song and others that you've created. Every song you make related to many events I dealt with in my life, an they remind me to keep pushing and to never give up on love or myself. I know there's someone out there for me, and I know I can do my best. Thank you so much 💚💯🙏

I saw this in my recommendeds at such a coincidental time, this morning I was just texted by my ex best friend, and I didn't know what to do, but this song helped me figure out that I don't need to bow to her requests to start a fight. She claimed so many times she wanted to stay friends but never talked to me, she left me all alone when I was in one of my worst spots, and judged me for trying to be friends with one of my ex's since if I hadn't, I would have killed myself. Bronwynne, if you ever see this, I'm done with you, it was fun while it lasted, but you left me when I was all alone and you were my last hope, and I don't think I can forgive that, even if I did hurt you (which I am still sorry about).

As someone who is fighting within themselves to choose their mental health over so-called family that mentally and emotionally abuses me and my sisters(and used to physically abuse my father, which in-turn caused his mental issues), this song feels insanely powerful. To all those who need to hear this. You are loved. You are wanted. “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. “No pain, no gain.” You are all living proof of these quotes. Your abuse hurts and will probably continue hurting but this will make you a stronger person. Your bravery and strength to hold on will be rewarded in the future. Don’t give up now because there is so much out there worth living. If you die, you’ll never experience the joy and happiness of life. You’re your own jury, your own judge. Don’t look at others. Only look at yourselves because you matter. You always have, ever since you were born, and you always will. “Every child deserves a parent but not every parent deserves a child.” You aren’t the monster. Whoever is torturing you is. Love yourself and others will love you. Respect yourself and other will respect you. “Your abuse is your glory” as Citizen Soldier has said in one of his songs. Your abuse is your glory and the story you will write in your future. No one is like you. God makes everyone different and if you die. Your uniqueness dies with you. No one wants that. If your loved ones can’t see that then they are not truly your loved ones. There is no one else like you. Don’t think you are inferior. Everyone is the same. What matters is what’s in your heart, nothing else. Remember that and live your life to the fullest so one day, you can look back and say “I really did it all.” Live life with no regrets and leave this world happily knowing you experienced everything you’ve ever wanted. Karma will punish those who’ve hurt you and Karma will reward you for your glorious bravery. You’re the next generation and the warriors of this world. You’re special. One day this world will see that. Everyone who’s ever doubted you will see that. You don’t need anyone’s approval other than your own. Never forget that and live a life full of love, happiness and fulfilment. We’re all with you :) Sorry if I started rambling but seeing all these comments about how people have suffered just made me want to say this to everyone who needs it. I hope you don’t mind if you’ve read all the way to here and sorry if I wasted your time but I’ll always be here for anyone who needs to vent.

Family can be difficult. I have only recently decided to cut myself off besides once a year to my dad's family because they couldn't accept the fact my boyfriend is older than me. The only family member I thought would have issues with it is the only one truly supportive. They were never in my life since my maternal grandparents raised me. But it didn't make their rejection of him hurt any less. I realized I was giving them so much control over my life by letting them be part of my life that I had to let go. It's hard to do that, but in a couple years when you move out you can make the same choice I did. I'm sorry your sister is like that. Try to talk with your parents and limit contact. if you share a room see if you can go to different rooms. If your parents aren't supportive try other family members or friend. I don't know how old you are or if you are old enough where you can just stay with friends and couch surf. It's not the best way to live, but it's a way until you can get away from toxic people. If it's real bad consider a domestic/children shelter.

This song is hitting me harder than it should. I am both the victim in some relationships and the toxic one in others. I've been working on myself lately, changing for the better but also realizing that I have worth and I don't need to be with people who hurt me. I'm hoping that I can heal and that the people I've hurt can heal as well.

I honestly feel like finding you guys as recent as I have was fate. A lot of your songs, like this one, really speak to me about my situation. They make me realize my ex really messed me up, abused me, etc. But they also make me feel like I’m strong enough to get through this; and I’m already taking steps to heal by starting therapy.

I know this is talking to someone in a bad relationship but I feel like it’s about someone’s mind. Trying to get away from the toxic and scary thoughts that your own mind gives you. “I’m never coming back again.” I won’t go back to the anxiety whispering in my ear and nightmares that take shape in my head. I don’t know, I could be wrong but that’s how I see it. Once again, AMAZING song! Thank you guys for helping all your fans. You just got another one :)

Ive listened to all your songs and each one is just amazing, even if i cant say they're the style i usually listen to. I can already see great things in your future, as long as you keep up the amazing work. It might not be much, but when i figure out how to connect my bank to spotify, ill make sure to grab your songs. Kinda wish it was easier, since i dunno how it works here in Indonesia...

Wow. Just wow. That's all I can say to this song. I'm a loyal fan at this point, I'm commenting on every single video you guys put out, simply because you're amazing. I can only repeat myself from my previous comments. Thank you so much for the hard work you put into these songs and helping a lot of people go through their darkest moments. I was one of them and I'm starting to feel better, some of it I can owe to your songs. That's why I'm telling you guys all the time how precious you are to us, fans. This song especially hit hard for me as I recently broke out from a very abusive relationship. I was lucky I had my best friend who helped me realize something is not right. I still have some mild PTSD from the experience, I try to avoid places we visited together, I would always get attacked with memories. Still, I feel better since I left and I'm single again. I'm glad I had the bravery to say No and put an end to this all. I'm a much happier person and the fact that you have a song about this makes me feel so special like it was written for me. This is becoming a long comment, so let me just wrap it up with this. Thank you for creating art and helping people with it. You are changing lives, I'm pretty sure, which is such a great thing. Keep it up and I'm here to support you! Thanks for reading this long comment, it means a lot!
