We bought a X1 recently and omg. We tried driving the merc and Volvo but the punch and power that bmw gives is unmatched! Definitely sheer driving experience. But if ur looking for only pure luxury then merc is the way to go.

The lure of a german marque (BMW or Merc, lesser of Audi these days), bragging rights, safe bet with many BMWs and Merc around, service centers etc etc. A volvo might offer good creature comfort but that a merc does as well. And the cherry on top is that its a merc.

@@MotorBeam I guess the GLA would make a better choice as it’s also spacious enough to call it and compare it with a SUV like fortuner plus it’s a personal query as well, we’re a family of four plus a dog and we’re looking for a comfortable car and as we’re searching for it we’ve came around to a point where no channel whatsoever has covered anything like that mentioning “pet friendly” as also an aspect when considering the next “member” ( car ) to the family😊

@@iubxx Just get the Legender if you want to be tension free. Its way more reliable than Merc. It is way more spacious than GLA and you will have a cheap cost of ownership 👍😀 You can consider GLA if you want more features , Rich interiors etc.

Next time, include other ownership related metrics for comparison - not just the usual things like 0 - 100, leg room, mileage etc. Things that will make or break a buying decision are the following (Not all but a good starting list). 1. After Sales service 2. Number of service centers 3. Long term reliability of the brand - both locally as well as abroad (if a foreign brand) 4. Safety of local build - If CKD, global ratings may apply but if its locally manufactured - then it needs to have a GNCAP or something. Not "yet to be tested" rating 5. Long term commitment from brand (Chevy, Opel, Ford, Daewoo, Peugeot.....) 6. Resale value of product (Potential in this case - remember if the brand packs up, the resale of the car will become a mirage) The asking price is quite steep - and its not a brand thats globally regarded as an aspirational brand nor are the audience for this car so experimental to buy even if its expensive.

Comparison is good for information but a buyer who is thinking of a bmw will always have the badge in mind. Also, BMW's are inherently reliable. With that perspective, X1 customer will 9 out of 10 times won't even bother about aircross

These are unreliable expensive cars that are fun to drive and there's no question of that. The only word reliability can be associated with is probably Toyotas, Honda's and the Koreans to a certain extent.

Man C5 has a superior ride quality like it is sooo good. My parents had a choice between fortuner base variant and Citroen C5 we went for Citroen cause God this car is really good. Citroen has lived up to my mark also it has few features missing but tbh it's okay. The price also fits the car. the service center is soo good and it treats you well.. happy with C5.

Holy duck...so much is not mentioned.. I own a BMW X1 2017 diesel, and test drove the C5...I can absolutely tell you...if you are an enthusiast, C5 is a waste.. secondly, braking is not as strong if you are driving on highways...there is ONLY ONE dealer of Citroen in the whole state of Gujarat...and absolutely no service centres anywhere but ahmedabad....and we all know what's road assistance like in India...the engine noise inside the cabin is too too high and disturbing when revving for a quick overtake..lastly the fit and finish of BMW is like wayyyy ahead of C5...no analog representation of dials...no electric adjustment for seats...we just can't compare them... Coming to X1...very low under thigh support in back seat..not at all comfortable for long rides for 5...smaller size space saver spare wheel.. the factory fitted pirreli tyres RFT are the worst available in the market...they blow don't puncture..always opt for simple BS Turanza or similar tyres.

i bought the 2016F48, it has alot of problems till I drove for 5 years, Do not buy the X1, problems such as engine body clip on engine bay broke 3 times, gear changing module spoilt, hefty USD11000, twin turbo charger spoilt, another USD3000. battery changes 4 times USD500 each, the start/stop will not work properly,i its an indication. and other consumerbles. not really woth buy.

Citroen drives beautifully, almost like an Audi, but its seating comfort is very disappointing. Three prople sitting in the rear seats is a big joke!! Even one person cannot sit in comfort due to the poor seat design where you have to sit in an extreme corner only and your head is too close to the roof corners and the window glass. Only for this one reason I did not buy this car. Also the low hanging plastic apron with fake exhausts as rear bumper is a design howler. Also manual seat adjustment for the driver's seat is a super howler !!Citroen please do a course correction as otherwise this car is on par with Audi in driving comfort and driving dynamics, may be even slightly better. Please please I still want to buy it. And please have a service centre in Bhubaneswar . I am driving a q3 at present since the last 9 years. It still runs beautifully after 140000 kms. But I still want to change. Also the cost difference between the two Citroen variants is too high and seems unreasonable.

Mr. Biker, all 5 ft 6 inches of him needs to adjust the front seat to a realistic distance. Im 5'9 and I dont have any issues when someone my height is seated ahead of me. Also, stiffer the ride means more engaging the drive.
