I love that little 1.1 ltr engine, its obviously not actually fast but in a car this light it is surprisingly punchy, especially 4th and 1st you get a really nice tug out of it. Feels like taking a really eager puppy for a walk and it wants to go and chase the big dogs round the park

I own a mk2 vtr. Very fun little car. Got it from my dad for my 18th birthday so gonna try to keep it forever. He has two saxo vts himself. Kindoff a family thing now.

Dinosaur Juice here in the netherlands there are only 19 16v versions left on the road. A shame really. Most of them probably went to the scrappers.

Planning to get a Saxo myself as a future sleeper project, my dad used to have a Gold VTR and he had an East Coast in Blue around 15 years ago.

Might be a little late but i own a 1.1 saxo and i recommend tying up your shifting rods with a copper wire. Holds them much better than the rubber balls that come from the factory

I got one a couple days ago 50k miles I needed to get gear links linkage rod set and gear slector rod it’s so horrible to put in to gear and I just can’t get used to it is yours bad? And putting in in first occiasonily takes a couple tries really need to bang it in

My Saxo is a face lifted one. Rare but not as rare as the pre-facelift. Gonna hold on to it for as long as I can as all but the lights have been modified and no rust or dents etc

Yeah the face lift is nice. You dont see modified ones as much as you did when I was a kid.

I've got 2000 saxo on a W plate. The instruments have stopped working. I've tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting to reset the ECU but no luck. All fuses are in order. Any suggestions? Thanks

This was not my car it was my friends car. The dash failure could be caused by many things. I would suggest asking on a saxo forum or owners club.

I am by no means an expert in Citroen Saxos but I haven't heard anything bad about the 1.4 engine.

@@alexmitros3873 like lots of cars from this time rust can be a problem. I would recommend viewing the car on a nice dry day and getting underneath it to have a look. As well as looking for rust look at the suspension bushes springs and shock absorbers if you're worried about suspension condition. Lots of components like that are still available because of its relation to the Peugeot 106.
