Restored last winter, repainted and with a newly restored Merak SS-engine with 220 hp. Original interior in a very good lightly patinated condition. The car is originally from Spain and came to Sweden around 10 years ago.

Magic. Blue Delta A close friend in Sydney converted a Blue Delta SM from left to right hand drive. I had the privilege of a drive through the Southern Highlands and back up the South Coast. Motoring bliss. More SMs went through the complex conversion to RHD in Australia than anywhere in the world. Majestic rocket.

@@peteranastasiou9300 Hi Peter. Retired racing car driver Peter McLeod brought over 20 SMs from California and converted around half of those to RHD. He has done the most recent cars and the largest number of conversions. His workshop is South of Wollongong about 80 km South of Sydney. I will find out if he can supply a RHD dash moulding. Stephen

Hi Peter I have contacted Peter McLeod who advised he is now fully retired. They manufactured their own RHD dashboards. There was no residual stock made. He did not have any suggestions. 3 friends in the car club jointly had a mould made up nearly 30 yrs ago to share the cost.

One of those who organised this was a very talented mechanic, service and parts manager who ordered all the parts for a GS Birotor and built a RHD Birotor. Probably the only one of its type... I will check if the SM dashboard mould is still in his huge shed . He is also retired. Stephen

What a beautiful vechile. 1973 I was thirteen years young I'm 62 now. I wore my hair at shoulder length, with flared denims and a pair of sneakers. I had a nice pair of platform shoes for best wear. I liked British Glam. Rock music such as The Sweet, Gary Glitter, Slade, and Suzi Quatro.

Hiya Carl. In 1973 I was 14yrs old. I too had long hair, wore flared trousers and platform shoes, (I still have a pair in the wardrobe!) However, I had an older cousin who had introduced me to Krautrock, so I was into the likes of Kraftwerk, Faust and Tangerine Dream. The 1st car to make me stop and stare was a Citroen CX, in 1976. In the early 80s I "became aware" of SMs. Now aged 63, around 40yrs later, I have finally fulfilled that dream. Last weekend I flew over to Sweden to view this car, and I have now bought it. It is staying over there until the summer when I will be cycling back over there to collect it and drive it back to the UK. Summer 2023 should definitely be one for me to remember! LG.
