The advice with the tape roll under the wiper arm is good! I did the wiper change freehand with a towel on the screen to avoid scratches... It's always nice to see, how you care for this little car! 🚗

There's plenty of valid solutions. Doing it 'freehand' though, runs the risk of dropping the arm onto the screen and maybe causing a chip or crack.

Very handy video as it is not obvious how to remove the old wiper. I bought a Bosch replacement and it took me a few seconds to figure out it went on.

Thank you, Robert, I do try. The diesel grime issue is especially acute with cars used in the city a lot. So, screen cleaning is important both for saving money on blades in the long run and for safety on the open road in the rain.

For those of you looking for the 2nd gen C1, it's far easier than this, just a little tab on the blade to push in and then pull the wiper off toward you. Put a cloth or something similar on the screen to avoid damaging the glass if you let the arm slip. Installation is the reverse of removal.
