I love it ,,, could you fit a kickstart ?? make up a bit of wire with a crocodile clip on either end and a 3 amp fuse in the middle ,, or at an end ,,, and use it as a link between the removed earth and the car its self and you will keep your radio settings etc ,,, like a cheap jump pack etc , and if you do short things out the fuse will blow ,,, just a thought .

I had the Starter Motor on mine replaced by a garage. They said the front bumper comes off to do the job! Have you considered that, or they were just fobbing me off with labour fees! Nicely done, looks very fiddly. 👍

Front bumper off won’t help much with the starter, but would help to replace the alternator. Front bumper comes off these east enough though.

Hi mine is 2007 vibe low liles only 37k. Only things gone wrong was water pump, gear linkage cable, and the real shitter was indicator controller that went kaput was expensive. Should I change gearbox oil or is manual fine? She is getting on a bit. I won't mention the boot leaks not too bad.

Pretty standard issues on these really. The indicator stalk is a relatively easy fix for free. I made a video fixing mine in the early days of the channel

Any reasons my C1 is burning so much oil,i just bought new PCV valve and i hope it helps but its burining 1L per 750-800km.(also i got check engine light and its giving out error saying my cat needs to be changed wich I doubt)

I've seen a fair few of those Toyota 3 cylinder engines burn 1L per 1000km after 100k miles, I think it's normal for them, it may be your cat is fouled from oil burning?

I added a tin of Wynns Stop Smoke - a gloopy product that seems to thicken up the oil reducing burning and smoke dramatically

Just finished replacing the starter motor. New off of ‘the bay’ for £65. All good now. BTW, I did try and work from the top of the car. In the end I found it was easier to get the car up on ramps. Even with a powerful torch, I could see bugger all from under the bonnet. Although still difficult regarding access, at least when I was under the car, I could see where the sockets were supposed to go! Whoever designed the fitting for the starter motor needs a swift kick in the boulux (that’s French, that is) Anyway, top video as usual. Very much appreciated.

3:37 Brand new starter doesn't come with this mounting plate unless you've got a second hand I think. By the way nice video, helped me a lot. But that bottom bolt is a b...tch to remove. Didn't want to go at all. After all got it done 😉
