Citroen C5 Steering wheel removal

Got the same issue with my C5 leather steering wheel. Leather seems to be crumbling during dry weather and sticky during the wet season. Solved it covering it with a new leather wrap from Aliexpress. 2€.. we will see how it will hold up.

Hi I have a citroen c5 1.6 hdi 2010. Have fitted a reconditioned steering rack. Now as soon as I start the car(and car stationary) steering wheel turns by itself to the right and stops at the full right lock position? Any ideas appreciated. Thanks

What is the yellow plastic clip on the steering column for ( behind the steering wheel ) is that dangerous if it is broken ?

The two airbag connectors have yellow clips that hold the connectors in place?

@@peugeotCitroen2CV it seems to hold a pair of springs more behind the airbag unit ( I.e. more to the front of the car) but on the steering column maybe it has to do with the steering adjustment?

@@ropacons Hmmm not too sure, never delved that far back into the C5 steering column. It may be a bush for the adjustable column to hold it tight. Has yours broken at all, is there any play in the steering column?

can you put steering wheel from c3 to c5?

It's the same process for a peugeot 106 ?? the car is from 1993 and there is nothing on the steering wheel (buttons, air bugs ctc)... just a piece of rubber.

Does the steering wheel in your 106 feel as if the rubber is moving apart from the steel inside the steering wheel? That is a common problem on older peugeots and citroens but on this C5 it didnt quite do that, the leather just developed this unpleasent surface texture.

peugeotCitroen2CV there are chunks of rubber cut of every time i drive but i dont feel too much movement...

From memory, I​ think it was between a 45 and 55.

It's not so difficult once you are shown how. I presume you have disconnected the battery.
