Citroen Relay Single seat on a budget

In this video we show how we managed to get a single passenger seat for our Citroen Relay on a budget.
We purchased the base, this is the key part the come up for sale from time to time on Facebook and Ebay you just need to look around, ours cost us £80. Next we found a Bippa seat which was going for free so we got that, then this is the part which enables everything to work in our case anyway, the seat clip, it is different to the driver side of the van and has a wider neck to the clasp, you can take one of the double seat or buy a new one, here is the part number: 060911744 Link: coastalmotorhomes.co.uk/fits-...

Thanks for this video. In terms of 'seat base' is it the drivers side seat base the same as the passengers? are they interchangeable?

Hi Drew, I used M8 steel bolts, about 40mm long to go into the base. They matched the bolt holes that are in the base. Have you managed to buy a base yet?

Hi User-wb6pe7pl5l, I got it from facebook market, there was a person giving one away, just look for someone scraping a van i guess would be the best way to go, not many people want them unlike the seats for the relay etc. remember you only need to the seat its self. I hope this helps.

The most important part was to buy the base! What base is that? By what name/ description should I look?

Hi User-wb6pe7pl5l, I purchased the single base on facebook market, it is a standard Relay, boxer Ducato single base, they do make a low profile one but this is for swivel bases to be put on. You can use either a driver or passenger base. You may be lucky enough to find one in a scrap yard, which has a damaged seat which you can switch out. I hope this helps.

Can you tell us what it entailed to modify the runners please ?

Hi Drew, thank you for watching and posting a question. We drilled new holes in the lower part of the runners where the bolts go through into the base, you only need to drill out two holes one on each side. So we could use the original bolting points on the base itself. I hope this answers your question fully.

@@drew3264 I think it was a 2016, the important part was the gap between the runners matching. If you have a base measure the gap between the bolt holes on the base. We measured the one we had at about 41cm but this could be different on other bases. The base we have was from a 2016 Citroen relay. The gap between the inside of the runners on the seat is 36.5cm and the bolt holes were of course around 41cm, it was just a case of making the new holes closer together on the runners to line up the bolt holes on the base.
