Thanks 👍 More recently he has been let loose with the mitre saw and the trim router. no expensive material replacement yet so all good and still 10 fingers intact :-)

Looks so easy when the swivel is made for the van. I've got universal ones so fabrication is necessary, much cheaper though.

Good luck with your 'fettling', hope it goes well.

Ha, an excuse to practice the tig welding course I'm on at college. Drivers seat done, a lot quicker 2nd time around on the passenger side. Makes the Vito look huge inside 👌

I have a FASP one in my current van and had exactly the same issue with bolts catching when it was rotated. They are built very solid but always need a bit of extra work to get thm installed properly. Now I'm watching great videos like this because I'm getting a Relay in the next few weeks. Which one do you prefer in terms of seating position when they are rotated? Do you think two offset ones would be too close together or would there still be a reasonable gap between the seats?
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
I think for myself they would be too close to the middle, the one off-set for the passenger to be closer to the table is fine. 1 year on the sportscraft is still so much easier to swivel and nowhere near so stiff but it does wobble a bit on the bearing. good luck with your build.

Hi great video based on your video looks like the sportcraft is a better buy, would you concur with this especially now after you have used them for a while? Thanks David
@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 Жыл бұрын
Thank for the comment and question. the fasp is still quite stiff to turn, but in some way, a reassuring amount of stiffness? the sportscraft turns very easily but is almost on the brink of being described as loose? it is on my to do list to investigate if anything needs tightening as the seat actually wobbles now a little. hope that helps in some way.

Hi, great video thanks. I'm thinking of getting two sportscraft swivels for my VW Crafter conversion. Can I ask does the sportscraft swivel lock in place when it's rotated rearwards? Thanks!
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
Mine does not but I'm not sure if the Fiat body version is different to the Merc/VW? after 6 months of use my verdict is that the sportscraft is far less stiff than the fasp to rotate but it does 'wobble' on its small center pivot, the fasp is far more stable but stiff to rotate. the sportscraft also has a few sharp edges that protrude when rotated which the fasp does not that will skin your shins if you flap your legs about too much. again, VW version may be slightly different. which one would I buy again?? not sure as both have good and bad.... good luck with your build.

@@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 Hi , is there any chance to put some grease on the swivel to make it smother when you turn it ? 🤔🤔 I’m curently converting my van and not sure which to buy 🤷♂️

Hi. Great video. In hindsight, would you have fitted 2 x sportcraft swivels? Where did u purchase them from. Thanks. Mark
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
yes agreed, the sportscraft is great, the other one is so stiff to rotate. need to dismantle it and grease her up a bit to see if that helps. would not buy the FASP one again.

Do you find the Sportscraft one rocks whilst driving? I've got one that does and am thinking of replacing it. It might be because its older so don't know if a new one will help or if I should go for FASP.
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
my sportscraft wobbles like you say so I think they must all be like it. the FASP is more solid in that respect but harder to fit and does not, at the time of buying mine, do an off-set for the passenger side, hence the mix and match. without the need for the off-set go FASP. More fussy to fit and stiff to rotate but they dont wobble... good luck with it.

hi harry and dad , please can you tell me if the passenger seat on the fasp swivel looks higher than the passenger side . are there any problems with height in normal position
@wiltshirecustomcamper72033 жыл бұрын
We actually liked the increased height as I like a nice high driving position. I'm not a 'sofa' driver.

Hi, I’ve just got to this stage in my van build, however disconnected the battery before commencing the work and now work complete and battery reconnected I have no power at all, did you encounter any problems with yours after reconnecting? It’s as if mine has gone into an immobiliser mode but no power to ignition at all.
@wiltshirecustomcamper72033 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Mine went very smoothly, disconnected the neg on the battery and then reconnected it after the seat was back in place and the various plugs were re-attached. no error messages or issues when started van afterwards.

The Sportscraft is the much better made of the two for sure, and easier to fit. Hope that helps.

The time has come for me to look for swivel seat mounts for my build. So my question is. after over 12 months of use would you still recommend the ones you have purchased or would you change any of them? and why? many thanks. 👍
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
Great question and thank you. I would go with the sportscraft again although they are not perfect as the seat does wobble a bit. The Fasp is still as stiff as can be but at least does not wobble, if this could be made with a smoother motion it would be the winner. hope that kind of helps, both are OK but both have flaws.
