CiTV used to be watchable as a dedicated channel. I remember the days when Horrid Henry was repeated ad nauseum.

Now THIS is real British telly ! Not the current toxic waste like Bluey and Teen Titans Go.

I don't know what the common consensus for this era was, but I think the CITV channel was pretty decent in its first few years. (Probably because I was still a kid during this time.) I still prefer the Gas Street Era, but you can't go wrong with having more hours worth of CITV shows.

By then, CiTV's presentation was moved to Quay Street, Manchester and Steven Andrew gave the go-ahead of launching a dedicated channel. The homogenisation of ITV meant that both Granada and Carlton didn't invest much in ITV's children's service until their merger gave the go-ahead in 2003. Steven Andrew was the producer of The Big Bang, Jungle Run and My Parents Are Aliens while at Yorkshire Television.
