Yo fun fact for all the diy homies. You can just use a regular brick to rub brick. Works just as good and you can usually find em for free. Keep shredding!

A heads up, i used to work for a caulking company. When we would grind out expansion joints to caulk, then we would use alcohol and rags to whipe out the joints before caulking them. It helps to bond stronger. Same concept for bondo and any other materials used with concrete.

That park is a lil neighborhood gem. I'm 50 and like to get some skating in there and relearn some tricks without being to crowded. Best of all I dont get "imposter syndrome " at that park like I do at Poods lol.

There is a DIY at 205 Hopkins Blvd in Biloxi, MS. under a bridge.. They got their biggest donation today a halfpipe... I'm so stoked for Biloxi DIY.. Gulfcoast Skateparks Association is really trying to bring the people here a great park.

Hey I don't wanna sound too negative but man you gotta get a respirator for when you're doing big bondo jobs. That stuff is real nasty for your lungs, even just breathing it as you're mixing it, and there's known carcinogens and one ingredient that's known to mess with your inner ear and can cause tinnitus and mess with your balance. 3m, who make bondo, do an organic vapor and mist mask for under $100. Well worth it for when you're mixing concrete, painting, cutting mdf, sanding etc as well. Gotta look after your lungs so you can keep building all those dope spots!

I agree! I'm wearing a mask :)

any adhesive/tar type filler wont be as good as an epoxy or cement based filler for grinding over

Use a squirt of liquid nails to put that brick scuffer back together. and honestly, when I dump my ride I just grab a piece of basalt (I'm in NW OR) and grind off the burrs and go about my business - granite or basalt both work, granite will generally be coarse to super coarse grit and basalt will be fine to super fine; both with grind cement probably more than you want them to lol
@tamidon408 күн бұрын
Sean needs to use the liquid nails to repair his rubbing block. That’s what I did for mine and it worked a treat.

I've skated at almost every park in San Diego over the years and somehow little Del Sur skatepark was where I fell wrong and broke my arm a few years ago.

I might be in the minority on this, but big wheels are great for slappies. Way easier to roll up on the curb. They're not great for combos and they might slow you down a bit, but it's a trade I'm usually happy to make.

would feather finish work well for curb joints? i've used it for a jersey barrier to smooth out concrete to ground, seems pretty hard
@ZackDowdy11 күн бұрын
For the top joints where you slide would be fine I think it would fall out the seam where you grind.

Tell ya a neat trick for getting filled cracks rly smooth. Once its in place get a big glob of saliva on your fingers and use it to gently smooth it out. The spit will dry pretty quickly. Just dont get any bondo in ya mouth.

Just moved to SD a year ago from Seattle. Seattle has way better parks than SD does, and they build like 5 new ones a year in the surrounding areas. Grindlines based out of there so the parks are rad, sure there's some old shitty parks there but they rebuild them. SD has like no new skateparks coming. Most of the parks here are very cookie cutter and linda vista is waaay too busy even in the am and I never skate there even though I live down the street in Clairmont, I only skate street here for the curbs.

Hot tip on keeping bondo in your car: clean the rim & with acetone before closing the can, and then wrap that sucker in a grocery bag or a garbage bag.
