Here In 2024. Been here since maybe 2009 or whenever I first heard this album. Coming back to this talented musician. We are survivors and we are surviving.

This song popped in my head, literally, just now... as if it were broadcasted to me. I'm not even sure what made me think of it.. but here I am 14 years later.

Listened to this song in the car with my boyfriend a few days before I left him. It was in a way a cry for help. Show him how he makes me feel. What his abuse has done to me. Left me broken and hollow. Yet I still wanted him to fix it. That's the ironic part about toxic relationships. You know they're eating you alive but you welcome it in. Because that's all you think you're worth at the time.

This song will forever beautifully haunt our hearts. This song and this whole album especially Comin' Home and Sometimes (I Wish), really strike deep into the broken hearts of many. With the hurt and finding the will to move forward with that pain, this album is a reflection of that. City and Colour is one of the most underrated bands i have come accross and seriously wish to see them live to experience the aura of the concert he would undoubtedly greatly procuce. Dallas Green is a genius who makes great music transformed by sorrow and pain that we can relate to. I love artists who can do that. Makes us feel less alone when reminiscing with these beautiful songs. If you are reading this, all will be okay. The pain you feel may feel like eternity. Despite that, think about what is keeping you alive in this moment. Why do you still still stay alive even is this horrid pain youre in? Those around who love you that you dont want to let down or pass the pain onto? Or simply not not seeing the sun rise ever again? To have that first sip of coffee of the day or drag of a cigarette that makes you feel at home. Keep doing what it is that keeps you going because strength is strength, doesnt matter what behind it that keeps you driven, keep it alive because really as you keep it so, it makes you stay alive. And that is a wonderful thing. Stay strong, and enjoy the things that keep you here today and fight for it for those who in their life matter to them even if its just just a dog or cat, to them, you are their whole world. Dont suddenly take that away from them. You are loved no matter what situation youre in. Human or animal, they love you and wouldnt want to go. Stay alive as your long your vessel allows you to. Pain is always temporary. When reaching rock bottom the only way is up, my friends. See it like the clouds of the sky. They come and pass like sadness. Even if it stays for weeks or even months, but it'll pass and then there will eventually be sunshine.

So let's face it this was never what you wanted And I know its fun to pretend Now blank stares and empty threats Are all I have, they're all I have. So drown me and if you can Or we could just have conversation. And I fall, I fall, I faulter But I found you, before I drift away Now you still speak of day old hate Though your whole world has gone up into flames And isn't it great to find that you're really worth nothing And how safe it is to feel safe. So drown me and if you can Or we could just have conversation. And I fall, I fall, I falter But I found you, before I drift away The things we do just to stay alive The things we do just to stay alive The things we do just to stay alive The things we do just to keep ourselves alive
