Council President Hardin and Council Pro Tem Dorans (both advocates for transportation and infrastructure investment) are here to discuss Zone in Columbus, a proposal outlining the initial focus areas for modernizing Columbus's zoning code.
This April, the City of Columbus is presenting a plan to update zoning along Columbus corridors. Explore the Zone In Gallery, an interactive exhibit at 141 N. Front Street open six days a week, to learn more about the Code proposal update. For additional details, speak with your area commissioner or visit ** columbus.gov/zoningupdate **
Got Questions? Call 614-645-5343 or email zoningupdate@columbus.gov to sign up for updates and inquire about public hearings.
**** The public comment period ends on June 10 ****

It's not usually citizens that come to Council, it's developers that didn't get approval from the area commissions.

Community engagement with a PR firm? Sounds like we're being pushed into accepting what's already been decided.

Lets see these building designs get shown to "All of The Residents who "own" in the neighborhoods by taking this to our Public Libraries instead of asking people to come downtown.. I absolutely abhor driving downtown no matter if its free parking or not and from what I can tell it is by appointment only which is inconvenient. Bring it to the people. Anna In Ohio

The zoning maps I've saw, are not enough. They are too narrow, they are drawn along major roads. They need to expand past them. As well, we need to reduce focus on big box store and encentivize smaller stores. A lot of ghost markets because targets, Walmart, krogers, etc out priced them. Then raised prices. There also needs to be some parks for people to walk to. Maybe a street car/bike path that goes from a community to a bigger park. Not community to the city, COTA has that covered.
