Youre overlooking the fact that Seths angelic aura lends a faint sort of "knowing" to Maggie. You see it during her first 2 conversations with him. The encounters are unusual by our standards, but she doesn't feel alarmed or distrusting. His presence relaxes any anxiety the situation might arise in her. Its not so much her rationalization that he is supernatural so much as her sensing it...and investigating it to conclusion. In short: Maggie knows Seth without knowing that she knows. Its sort of the way Joe in Meet Joe Black is able to convey what he is to ppl without having to say a word...and does so at will.

Used to be one of my favorite movies in my early 20s. Took me awhile to realize that the movie is speaking of Genesis 6. And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. I'm not sure how I missed this. Nicolas Cage (Coppola) was an angel who fell for the daughter of men. The once angel had told him how to "fall" to become human so he could be with her. Idk how I missed this. Good flick though.

But he is supposed to be a weirdo cos he is like an alien and she acts the way she does cause she gets effected by Seth's presence who is a supernatural being.she almost gets hypnotized n fully trusting with Seth because of his angeljc presence.

I've only recently watched this movie and I thought it was okay but the ending got me... So badly. They could have left it when Maggie was making food for her and Seth... That would have been a better ending then Seth swimming in the sea. Or they could have made a sequel where Seth is older and meets a woman who looks like Maggie and ends up falling in love with her accepting she isn't Maggie or something. I give this movie a 5/10. 👍👍

True 👍 maggie is supposed to feel like it and act like it because of the supernatural aspects of Seth and Seth acts like a weirdo cause he is like an alien who 1st time feels that a living being sees through her eyes,feels him for some reason which he never experienced before.also She catches Seths truth early on because of the feeling she gets.it is shown in her eyes that she feels something unnatural whenever he meets her.This movie is not only for watching like typical movies for entertainment purpose,this movie is to be felt and feel it through this two characters.its a feeling n that's why some people don't seem to get it

She has one more piece of evidence before she cuts him. As he is cutting the lettuce, she watches the knife go thru his thumb, he also notices this but hesitates then tries to play it off.

You should also watch and review the original movie: "The wings of Desire" (Der Himmel über Berlin) and it's sequel "Faraway, So Close" ( In weiter Ferne, so nah!) U2 actually made a music video "Stay"

And Nicholas Cage was due to start filming a Superman movie that ended up getting cancelled around the time this movie came out. That would have been interesting, I mean clearly he is perfect to play Superman with these acting skills...Although it was going to be Directed by Tim Burton soooo actually perfect it seems.
