Never in my 12 years as a Troll main have I felt as proud of my race as when I beheld the Great Pyramid for the first time while this music played. Understand that for most of WoW’s history the Darkspear Trolls have not had a real home that was impressive in any sense. For the first years we were relegated to being guests in the Orc capital. After that we got an island to ourself. An insignificant island on which Blizzard put a bunch of generic wooden Troll huts. That was supposed to be our home. The great Troll cities of Zul’gurub and Zul’aman were reserved for hostile troll tribes, and even those cities, grand as they were, emphasized the simple, unsophisticated nature of Troll architecture. Blizzard put in an enormous amount of work for the Throne of Thunder patch in MoP, giving us a taste of how truly awesome and majestic Troll architecture could be. But again, this work was reserved for enemy Trolls, leaving the Darkspears with nothing to be proud of. But now, for the first time, as we finally see Zandalar, we start understanding how the Trolls could have created one of the greatest Empires that Azeroth ever saw. Because this Zandalar that we see is but a remnant of what it once was, yet even in this old and diminished state, it is easily one of the most impressive cities in the world today. Imagine what it must’ve looked like during the peak of Troll power! Thank you Blizzard, I will burn this memory into my mind by repeating this fantastic track a million times.

It's weird, isn't it? Feeling so emotional for a race that isn't even real. Yet we still come to love them so much. None of the races had been more neglected than the darkspear (goblins and gnomes come close seconds). The darkspear isles are an excellent example of this, as they seemingly had less attention compared to all the other racial capitals as your description so accurately put it. The trolls (darkspear) even more so than the gnomes and goblins. (Gnome/goblin presence is felt throughout most expansions as their technology is hard to ignore. Our trolls only provided a warchief that didn't even last very long.) So i can only image what the trolls felt when they gazed upon dazar'alor. A city the trolls can finally call their own. As I would like to think the zandalari will open a district for them. To them (therefore, to you as well), I would like to say: much love. Personally I don't roll troll much (main orc and undead). I do have a few so might not consider myself trollish in any way, but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't rejoice at the announcement of the zandalari as an allied race. I'd take this city over Boralus any time. The development within zuldazar was more to my liking than that of the kul tirans. (Although I do main horde, I also appreciate a good story and kul tiras did provide an amazing story, but i didn't feel enough for it to consider it memorable for me. Atmosphere and social dilemmas from zuldazar felt more in line with my liking. That's my personal opinion.) Das dingo mon!! *hugs in orcish/forsaken*

Josh Powell-Morris His compositions were not great, honestly. I hated that during his leading position there, he composed very few melodies one could whistle, all the rest of his compositions are just sounds which don’t develop, just... give some mood but not development.
@SpaceMonke996 жыл бұрын
Alright, but I personally can cite Black Temple and Kil’jaeden’s themes as his own compositions which I whistle involuntarily. I don’t know if these were him specifically but Way of the Monk, Khadgar’s theme and Moon Rising are all memorable as hell to me and quite recent. I do for one agree that lots got repetitive and didn’t vary in mood like the relentless string and percussion of Mists and Warlords but I can’t overlook the phenomenal pieces he is responisble for due to some mediocrity.

I can't be the only one who thinks that zandalar seems newer than kul'tiras. I mean, kul'tiras is pretty, but it seems more of the same, but zandalar has this pre-comlombian atmosphere, and tropical maps are rare in WoW. And the desert feels new too, it really looks like a desert.

I love porting into Dazar'alor just for the wonderful music. I recently came back to WoW and I am just gobsmacked at how much better they made the game during my 3-4 year absence. This music here -- all of it! -- is maybe one of the best parts of that. And I am a bit spoiled when it comes to MMO music, considering I have been playing FFXIV for the last couple of years. The music and the whole feel of this part of WoW are absolutely fantastic -- meaning the entire huge island of which this is just a third part. .

Like a year ago BfA came out and, after all this time playing, all I can say is that I still enjoy and adore arriving to Zuldazar. The music is unique, powerful and epic. I know Boralus is a wonderful place and the intro is quite epic as well, but Dazar'alor hit the right spot. Beyond the design of the city -one that I enjoy even more now that I can fly around- the music will always make me stay a bit before leaving for another place around Zandalar. Even the new zandalari themes that came out after 8.1.5 -?- are soothing and amazing.
