Ten years ago, Guiyang was one of the poorest cities in China. The city which is the capital of Guizhou Province has gone through a massive transformation.

Yes, pretty massive...

These views represent investment into infrastructure, which is the foundation of economic development. However, in respect of economic development itself, Guiyang is still behind the tide. In all 361 cities, its GDP per capita and its residents' income per capita rank around 110.

Still watching the videos and all, loving the visit and all as always. Always love videos at night, it have a fresh feeling and its more relaxing than day with all the people noises. I still miss a bit of raining... nights and raining make perfect videos :D. I hope i m back now, time in hospital is very boring... I still have some small troubles, but feel better. Ready to watch more from China. You got some really cool camera now :O, is it your ? The visuals are awesome! I hope you gonna visit some places where there is real panda again, they always look so cool and fluffy (and always doing some random stupid things, their are very funny animals XD) Wish you all the best visits and all! I'll be there in the background, watching in silence...Shhhhh :P

夜郎谷这个村子不到30年。甲秀楼这个亭子是1598年建立,1909年重建。 It took an artist 20 years to create this sprawling sculpture garden honoring the area's ancient inhabitants. Stone figures tower above the grassy turf within a patch of forest in the Chinese province of Guizhou. Their eyes, forever open, gaze across the lush landscape. Though the rocky creatures look like the magical leftovers of a long-gone ancient settlement, they’re actually relatively new creations. The stunning structures are the work of Song Peilun, an artist, cartoonist, and former professor. He has spent more than 20 years designing the sprawling village of stone figures. Known as Yelang Valley, the massive collection of art spans over two million square feet and includes castles, lakes, and freestanding towers adorned with facial features. Local masons helped with the construction, though since they had little artistic experience, Peilun instructed them to treat building the structures as if they were making pigpens. Peilun began building Yelang Valley after visiting the Crazy Horse Memorial on a trip to the United States. He quit his job as a professor and purchased a then-isolated plot of land. The artist chose to build the mystical-looking sculpture park out of stone, as it was abundantly available and would therefore be environmentally friendly and cheap. Yelang Valley is his way of honoring and remembering the Yelang tribes that inhabited the area nearly 2,000 years ago before disappearing and leaving few artifacts in their wake. Though the area was once isolated and rural, there are now a handful of university buildings that have popped up nearby. Students sometimes help Peilun continue constructing the ever-evolving artwork.

what is with that European style building, the art centre hotel? People say its a mansion someone owns, other people say its a hotel. Is it open to stay in?
@WalkEast21 күн бұрын
From Google: The so-called ‘Guyiang White House’ is a gigantic structure located in the posh Huaguoyuan Wetland Park area of Guiyang City, in China’s Guizhou Province. It has gone viral as China’s largest mansion, but you can’t believe everything you read online… Featuring an architectural style usually observed in European palaces and museums, the Guiyang White House has become one of the most iconic sights in the Chinese city of Guiyang. Although many have described it as ‘kitsch’, ‘over-the-top’, and overly opulent’, there is no denying the eye-catching appeal of this megalithic structure, both during the day and at night, when it is illuminated by countless light installations. The structure got its name because of its white exterior and Western architectural influences, but when it comes to size, it actually dwarfs its Washington namesake. The entire complex, including the artificial pond in front of the edifice, is said to cover an area of 18.3 million square meters. Apart from its title as China’s largest mansion, the Guiyang White House is also known as one of the Asian country’s most mysterious pieces of real-estate. Not much is known about this place, in terms of ownership, status, or technical information. Some speculate that it features 12 floors and that its luxurious interior can be accessed by several rosewood-decked elevators, but that information has yet to be confirmed as no photos of the interior have ever appeared online.

I always wonder why india likes to compare with china? This is one of china's poorest state Guizhou Province. Guiyang city is a 3rd tier city and there are more than 30+ 3rd tier cities like this in china.they have around 650+ cities with an urban rate population of around 70% in the country Thier 4th tier city looks better than delhi mumbai bangalore. China's main competition is with the west. India is a big talker China is a doer
@franktrinidad14211 күн бұрын
imho, and without disrespect... i think the first thing india should do is to kick their governement who steal the money and let people in poor situation. with a new fresh government, india can raise, like any countries in the world. same here, and i m french...
